Three-person race for Longford chair

November 22, 2019

There will be changes in Longford

The Longford GAA convention looks set to be an eventful affair as three people are running for the post of chairperson.

A few weeks back, Eamonn Reilly stepped down from the position with immediate effect with vice-chairperson Brid McGoldrick filling the void until the convention on December 12th.

McGoldrick has let her name go forward to continue in the role, but she will be opposed on the night by Albert Cooney (Rathcline), who has completed five years as treasurer and Ballymore’s Derek Fahy.

The position of treasurer will be contested by three people also as well as vice-chairperson and assistant treasurer.

The Longford Arms Hotel will host the convention which will be held on a Thursday night.
