Moyne Community School win the first round of the Leinster Football Championship: Leinster Senior Championship, Moyne Community School V St. Gallen Community School, Ferbane. 1st Round of the Leinster Senior Championship. In Pairc Na nGael, Dromard. Monday. After a very tight contest throughout, Moyne we down 3 points to 6 at half time. Points were courtesy of Aaron Farrell x2 and Fionn Hourican x1. Moyne turned on the style in the second half with a great finish to the back of the net by Shane O'Brien following a rebound by a rocket of a shot by Fionn Hourican that rebounded of the crossbar. Aarron Farrell also chipped in with 2 more points in the second half. The match ended in a draw at full time. The Ferbane school took the initiative in extra time and scored 3 great unanswered points. But up stepped Josh Sorahan who came to the fore and scored 2 points for the Moyne side when they were badly needed and in addition Aaron Darcy and Fionn Hourican scored a point each. Moyne were 2 points up in half time in extra time and went on to record a great win on a scoreline of 1:10 to 11 points against a very strong Gallen Community School, Ferbane. Moyne now look forward to the second round of the Leinster Championship. Score line of 1:10 to 0:11. Scorers on the day: Fionn Hourican 0:2, Aaron Farrell 0:2, Shane O’Brien 1:0, Danial Conboy 0:1, Diarmauid Boylan 0:3, Josh Soranan 0:2, Aaron Darcy 0:1.

U16 Championship Final: The U16 Final was postponed last Sunday. No details of when this final will now be fixed. Hopefully it will be as soon as possible as this is now dragging on to the frustration of all the players. 

Monthly Members Draw: The Dromard GAA Special Members for 2020 has been launched. Tickets available from any club officer or local shops. We are asking all our members to consider renewing your subscriptions please. The funds raised go directly to meeting the day-to-day running costs of the Club and for maintaining the facilities at Páirc na nGael which are used extensively by the community.   You can register with club officials over the coming weeks or simply go to https://clubforce.com/dromardmonthlydraw and sign up online. Little Fitness for U10: The first evening of fun fitness was help on Friday night in Dromard Clubhouse, with a large number of Kids taking part. Thanks to Longford Fitness and Enda for all his help. This program will run for 6 weeks. Contact any of our coaches/officers for more information.
