Longford manager Padraig Davis is confident that his charges will be ready for the challenge that faces them in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers this Sunday.

This will be the Midlanders third game in three weeks following their draw and replay against Kildare in the Leinster SFC.

Longford looked a tired team against the Lilywhites last weekend, but Davis insisted to the Longford Leader that the players will be ready for the weekend’s clash against Carlow.

“I’d be quite happy that the lads will pick it up. It’s a qualifier and we have a good record in the qualifiers. We certainly have a good record in recovering from the disappointment of a Leinster championship exit and picking it up in the qualifiers,” said Davis.

“That’s all we are asking from the players. At the end of the day, to this point, they have given us everything.”
