Dromard Ladies

COUNTY MATTERS
Well done to management and team, including our own Karen McLoughlin and Shauna Hagan on winning Leinster Minor Championship medals on Mon last. Together with Louise Tierney and Kate McEntire's U14 Leinster Championship medals, we now have 4 Leinster medals in Dromard, a great achievement for a small parish and fair play to those girls for putting in the time and effort to achieve their goals. The u16 Leinster final was postponed at the weekend due to an objection raised by the other losing semi-finalists, so Longford await to see who and when they will be playing.

RESULTS
Pride of place this week must surely go to our St.Patricks National School in Dromard who ventured to Pearse Park last Tuesday and won their Girls Schools Final by a comfortable margin in the
end although it was nip and tuck until the closing stages. Well done to Mr.O'Rourke and Co.in mentoring the following bunch of girls:-Grace Tierney, Sarah Buchanan, Tara Gray, Emily O'Reilly, Meadhbh Carberry, Lauren Maguire, Lauren Conboy, Caoimhe Kearney, Mariah Reilly, Elena
O'Reilly, Rhianna Clarke, Emer Brady, Niamh Corrrigan, Kate Waters, Meadhbh Reynolds, Sarah Maguire and Gillian Reilly. And the good news is they all tog out for Dromard Ladies. Lets hope this is just the first silverware for this talented group of young ladies. Not only your school, but also
your club are so so proud of you all.

By contrast the two other games played this week ended in defeats. First up on Friday our Senior Panel succumbed to a much sharper Clonguish who still have their eyes on the Div 1 Title. This concludes the league this year for our Ladies and we now look forward to the start of the Senior Championship. The second defeat of the weekend came with a defeat to Killoe on Sunday in the re-arranged fixture for our U12 Panel. They have just one match left, played on Monday last report next week, when they headed to Ardagh. After that we look forward to Summer League.

FIXTURES

Our U16 Semi-Final at home to St. Helen's is still scheduled for tonight Weds at 7pm,but may change depending on the outcome of the Leinster Appeal. Girls and parents will be notified by
text of any change.

U12 TRIALS
These came to Dromard on Saturday last where some 30 to 40 girls were put through their paces by our County Senior Manager who seemed rightly impressed by the skill and enthusiasm on show. Most if not all of the County's clubs were represented and Emily O'Reilly and Tara Gray were the Dromard girls out. The County Development Squads will be starting soon and we encourage as many girls as are able to attend. We will furnish you with full details when available.

BIRTHDAYS
Two celebrations this week. Tamara Cosgrove a stalwart of our U14 and U16 Panels will be 14 on Thurs, and no doubt hoping to have had an early present by beating St.Helen's in the U16 Semi-Final
the previous night. Also Caitlin Rose Cassidy, our newest member who will be 6 on Monday. Welcome to our club Caitlin and we hope you enjoy playing Football for Dromard.
