Leinster Champions: Congratulations to Dromard’s Kate McEntire and Louise Tierney who played on the victorious Longford U14 side that won the Leinster final on Friday. Louise lined out in goals while Kate played at centre-half back. Well done to both of these dedicated young players on the magnificent achievement of winning a Leinster final.

Division 1: Colmcille 2-6 Dromard 1-7.  Our senior team suffered a narrow two-point defeat to Colmcille on Sunday in McGee Park. In a game played in difficult weather conditions, two early goals for Colmiclle proved to be the difference between the sides. A well-taken Cian Mimnagh goal brought Dromard into the game after the early setbacks as they trailed by a goal at the break 2-3 to 1-3. In the second half, Dromard stayed in contention with pointed frees from Cian Mimnagh but were unable to close the gap on their opponents as Colmcille held on to claim the two points. A speedy recovery to David Pettit who picked up an injury during the game. Team: Sean McNerney; David Pettit, Niall Vance, James Mimnagh; John Sheridan, Peter Reynolds, Conor McGahern; Ronan McEntire, Bryan McCormack; Diarmuid Masterson, Francis McGee, Bernard Sheridan; Karl McNerney, Joseph Hagan, Cian Mimnagh. Division 3: Hard luck to our second team who suffered defeat to a strong Granard side on Sunday in Higginstown. Despite missing a number of players, the team put in a good hard-working performance and won plenty of possession throughout the game. There are further fixtures in this competition in the coming weeks and an opportunity to build on the progress to date. Well done to all the players who togged out. County Matters: Congratulations to Louise Tierney and Kate McEntire and their teammates on winning the Leinster U/14 C Championship under the lights on Friday last and commiserations to the Minor Panel on their defeat.

Fixtures and Results: Hard Luck to our Senior Panel in the Gold Cup defeat to Ballymore. After last week's 3 point defeat,a 2 point defeat was hard to take, but keep up the good work girls. There is improvement to be seen with every match. Our U/12s lost their first match away to Carrickedmond, but for many it was their first taste of competitive football. The turnout was magnificent with many of our U/10s togging out as well the future is looking bright. Next up was a home match v Mostrim on Mon night, report next week. To accommodate our County Panels our U/16 match was postponed and is now down for decision in Ballymahon on Thursday after an away fixture tonight Weds v St.Helens.

Training: Continues every Sat morning at 10am on the Astroturf for all girls 6yrs to 16yrs. New faces are always welcome, just turn up and you will be welcomed and well looked after.

Birthdays: Two to celebrate this week. Avril Cosgrove will be 15 on Tues, and Grace Tierney turns 11 on Sunday. Happy Birthday girls from all your teammates in Dromard Ladies.
