Dromard Ladies Club Notes

County Matters: With the Senior Panel not out last weekend, it was the turn of the U14s and they did the County proud, coming back from Offaly with a 1-5 to 3-11 victory. Their next fixture is this Sat 16th at home v Kilkenny. With that in mind, they will be hopeful of securing a victory and a semi-final spot. We wish the management and panel the best of luck, especially our 2 representatives Louise Tierney and Kate McEntire. Also out next Saturday are the aforementioned Seniors who travel to Down looking for their second win in Division 3. Down sit just below us a point behind in sixth place, so a win would be very welcome to keep them at arm's length. Then on Mon 18th the Minor Panel, fresh from beating Laois away, entertain Westmeath who also won their first match, beating Wexford by 12 points. Good Luck to all our Panels.

Results and Fixtures: Sunday saw our Senior Panel play their very first ever Div 1 game against Longford Slashers. Although we managed to beat the weather with the second half played in a relentless blizzard which was to cover the pitch in a thin blanket of snow, we were unable to beat the opposition who were just too good for us on the day. Great credit to both teams and the referee for battling the elements and getting the game finished. There are no matches this coming Bank Holiday Weekend, so enjoy St.Patricks Day and come back batteries recharged for our Gold Cup match on Sun 24th at home v Clonguish. There will be no underage training either on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Cúl Camps: Anybody interested in assisting this Summer throughout the County at Cul Camps, please text Bernie or Deirdre your email address and they will send you a link to download an application form. For paid positions you need to be 18 by July 2019, and for volunteer helpers 16 by May 2019. If you want any more information, Amy and Karen McLoughlin and Aoife Grimes helped last year and they will tell you exactly what is involved.

Birthdays: Happy Birthday this week to Leah Tute who will be 10 on Thursday, and Amy McLoughlin who will be 19 on Friday. Enjoy your days girls and Best Wishes from all the Dromard Ladies.

Wedding: This weekend sees the marriage of our well-loved Senior player, and Club Secretary Imelda Reynolds to her husband to be Brian Higgins. Dromard Ladies wish you both every happiness as you start your life together, and continuing good fortune in the years to come. Let's hope that the sun shines on you both and your families at the weekend.
