Dromard Club Notes

Good to see Longford Minor team play in Dromard on Saturday last. A good team performance and a
good win. Well done to Arron Farrell and Fionn Hourican representing Dromard on the Longford
Minor team, both played excellently on the day. Thanks to the Senior Club for making the pitch
available and for providing tea for all the supporters from both teams.
Safeguarding course in Dromard on Thursday night (14 th ), from 7pm to 10pm, all coaches of
underage teams and parents welcome. Anyone involved with underage teams in any way must have
completed this course, club officers, first aid, coaches, etc.
Congratulations to all the girls and boys that received confirmation on Friday last. An excellent day
was had by all. Legga Church look fabulous with all the flags flying at full mast and the inside of the
church adorned with beautiful flowers. Well done to all involved.
Please support the Fundraise in memory of Danny McGee on Monday night next (18 th ) in the
Longford Arms Hotel. Danny was part of the St. Francis/St. Vincent teams u16 and Minor. A true
sportsman and is missed by everyone that knew him. The proceeds will go to the Kevin Bell
Repatriation Trust & St Christopher’s Longford.
Underage Coaching/Team Management/First Aid: Anyone Interested in getting involved with St.
Francis Club please contact Thomas O’Neill (Chairman), John Duffy (Secretary) or Paul Hourican
(Coaching Officer), as soon as possible. New people welcome.
Registration of Players will start soon. All players must be registered and sign a code of conduct etc
before they can play for St. Francis. Cost of Registration was agreed as €20 per Child or €50 per
Family.
Gear Swap Day: Football Boots, Jerseys, Togs etc swap day coming soon to the clubhouse. Anyone
with gear that is not needed any longer can start collecting it and putting it aside for our “Gear Swap
Day” which will take place in a few weeks’ time.
Minor Club Quiz will take place on Good Friday at 7pm. Get your team sorted. Presentation on the
night to underage teams.
