EGM: An EGM of the Club will take place on Sunday evening next (13 January) at 6pm in the Clubhouse to discuss the election of Club officers for 2019.
O’Byrne Cup: Well done to the Longford senior footballers on securing a draw against Louth on Saturday in Pearse Park. Following the previous wins over Wicklow and Meath, the draw against Louth saw Longford qualify for the semi final of the competition, a fine achievement given the large number of players currently absent. A speedy recovery to both Ronan McEntire and Joseph Hagan who missed the game through injury. Best of luck to the players and the management team – including Dromard’s Danny O’Toole – in the semi final against Westmeath on Saturday.
Dromard Athletics: Dromard Athletics will not go ahead in Dromard for the coming year, however all kids are welcome to register and train in Longford. Please see details below from Longford AC regarding registration and we hope to see all the kids at training in Longford going forward. Happy New Year.
Longford AC 2019: Club Registration Night for all members will be held on Friday Jan 11, 2019 at The Mall, 7-7:45pm. Athletics Ireland Club membership for every age group from Little Athletics up to Seniors must be renewed in January every year. Due to GDPR regulations coaches will no longer be accepting registration forms after training sessions so it is essential to attend Registration Night to renew for the coming year. The registration fee for 2019 is set at: All Adult members €30. Children U7-U18 1 child €25, 2 children in same family €50, 3 children in same family €60, 4 children in same family €70. All juvenile athletes (aged 10+ years) that intend to compete in the Connacht Indoor Championships in February must enrol on this night. Late registrations for juvenile members will not be accepted on any date after January 11th and they will not be eligible to complete in any indoor competition. Parents must be there in person to sign forms for all U18 members.
Dromard Ladies Club Notes
Fuel Draw: The tickets have been selling well so well done to everybody for a great effort. There are still a few left with players and in some shops, so one last push will hopefully see 100% sales and a solid foundation to our funds at the start of 2019. Anybody who wishes to leave their counterfoils and monies into Geraldine at Moyne Stores or into Bernie at his house will be very welcome to do so, as it saves a last minute rush on Sun 20th. If not we will see you all at the draw in the Clubhouse at 12 30pm, and Good Luck to everyone who has bought tickets.
Birthdays: Only one Birthday this week, and it is Mariah Reilly who will be celebrating her 12th Birthday on Friday. Have a lovely day Mariah and best wishes from all your U12 teammates and from everyone at Dromard Ladies.
