Our Christmas draw and fundraising event took place in the Olde Forge on Saturday night last and was a tremendous nights entertainment. Our prize winners on the night were €500, Doireann Fox, Esker, Casey and Becky Rowley, Knockloughlin and Janice O Kane Care of Abbott's. Well done to all the winners. Massive thanks to all who supported the draw and especially all who sold tickets. Also thanks to the Kiernan family for their hospitability on the night. 

 

Tickets for the national draw are still on sale with the draw In February. First prize in this draw is a car so it is well worth taking part. 

 

After a busy year our pitches underwent some remedial work last week and all 3 pitches will remain closed until further notice. 

 

Out dinner dance will take place on Saturday night the 19th of January in the Longford Arms hotel. Tickets are €30 each and will be on sale shortly. Entertainment will be provided on the night by the fabulous Scruffy Duffy. Tickets must be strictly purchased in advance. 

 

Our AGM will take place on Sunday the 4th of January at 4pm in the club house.  This year we have several committee positions becoming vacant so we are appealing for a good turn out at the meeting. If anyone is interested in taking a position on the committee please contact any member in advance. 

 

Out lotto draw for a jackpot of €4,200 took place on Sunday night in Begleys bar and the numbers drawn were 1, 18, 28 and 29. There was no jackpot winner. €20 winners were Liam Halpin, Megan Caherly, New York, Ellie Farrell, Carrowbeg, Emer and Feudhelm Muldoon, Cullyfad and Mary Farrell, C/O Margaret McCormack. This week's sellers prize went to Seam McKenna. Next week sees the jackpot rise to €4300 with our Christmas draw in the Olde Forge on Sunday night.  

 

Finally as 2018 comes to a close we would like to wish all our players, mentors,  members and supporters a very happy and peaceful Christmas and New year. Please God 2019 will be a successful one for all our teams.  

 

Thanks to all who have assisted us in so many ways In the running of our club in 2018. Also thanks to the management and staff of the Longford leader for all their help in the last year.
