Mullinalaghta will bid to become the first Longford team to reach a Leinster club SFC final today.

Carlow kingpins Eire Og, who have a rich tradition in the competition, stand between the three-in-a-row Longford champions and a place in the history books.

“We have done well in Leinster since winning our first game in the provincial series in 2016 and I think people are starting to take notice,” St Columba’s and new Cavan manager Mickey Graham told the Longford Leader.

“There is a chance that people who come to the game could witness history. Because it’s at home (in Glennon Bros Pearse Park) we have to make sure we work that wee bit harder and we can give the crowd something to cheer about.”
