Former Cavan footballer Mickey Graham is the favourite to take over the Longford senior football manager's job.

Graham is being heavily linked to the position after Denis Connerton stepped down following Longford's exit from the championship.

Now a committee is seeking a replacement and top of their list is Graham who has had huge success with St Columba's Mullinalaghta in recent years.

The former Cavan footballer has also been touted as a possible replacement for Mattie McGleenan in his native county.

However, speculation is increasing that he is Longford's number one target. Also believed to be in the running is ex-Midlanders footballer Padraic Davis.
