So it's a three game schedule down from a seven. Would Croke Park have been just as well to cancel all and reschedule for next week? The answer is probably yes.

The remaining NHL quarterfinal between Limerick and Clare still goes ahead at the Gaelic Grounds also.

O'Connor Park, Tullamore is still fit to host a double header as Offaly take on Kilkenny in the NHL quarterfinal 1.30pm), and this will be followed by the NFL 3 clash between the Faithful County and Sligo.

That means we are left with just three games now.

Carlow v. Westmeath (NHL 2A) and Waterford v. Leitrim (NFL 4) have been cancelled and will be rescheduled tomorrow.

The other hurling game sees the aforementioned NHL 2A final between Carlow and Westmeath at O'Moore Park. Westmeath came through the campaign unbeaten and will be slight favourites, but there is never too much between the teams.

Two NHL quarterfinals go ahead as Kilkenny should triumph against Offaly at O'Connor Park, but the situation should be a lot tighter in the Gaelic Grounds as Limerick entertain Clare.

Anyway, that's a rant for another day. Let's focus on what is ahead of us today.

The whole fiasco has turned into a bit of an embarrassment for the GAA and it is a situation that could have been handled a whole lot better.

The Division Four campaign has already been put back and there is no reason why today's two games couldn't be played next Saturday or Sunday.

The NHL 2A final could also be played next weekend too, while seeing as the NFL 2 clash between Down and Tipperary has been cancelled, there is no rush on Louth v. Meath in the same division either.

Two of the NHL quarterfinals will now be played next weekend, so why not all four?

The April club scene was already a shambles even before yesterday's postponements, so why not just put everything back a week?

Some player involved in today's games have come out and called the rescheduling of the games for this afternoon is disrespectful to them and to be fair you can see their point.

GAA chiefs are taking a lot of flak over the cancellation of games, but as much power as the association has, they can't do a lot about the weather.

Today's fixtures have come about in unexpected circumstances after snow in certain counties forced some games to be postponed for 24hrs.
