What are the Limerick clubs at?
Cove, To answer your question the clubs are doing the county boards ( dirty ) work for them. The chairman and secretary have gone out of there way to tell delegates to get 5 clubs to call for a meeting, they will even help them to word the letter now....... Why is this? is it because the top table cannot be seen to attempt to remove Justin by certain backers and that if the clubs do it the top table are free of blame. This business is being handled very strangely by the county board.
Eventually when the motion is voted on, Justin will survive with less then 50% support. The county board will have won the battle but Limercik hurling will be loosing the war.
I wonder will Justin consider resigning if he has less then 50% support?
Westrooper, will your club abstain or tow the line with Liam and support Justin? I suppose if ye get 1 or 2 players on the development or full panel ye might support Justin, as many junior clubs are doing. The politics of this is just unbelievable and the sooner politics is removed from Limercik GAA the better.

clubgaa, surely it should be up to the clubs to decide the future or the current management and not left solely to the county board executive. I don't think this is a question of the clubs doing the county board's dirty work. This is a very important decision and I think it's only fair that the clubs are allowed to have their voices heard. It'ss a pity that the clubs didn't act as more or less asked by Liam Lenihan at the February meeting. It's an even greater pity that some of the letters appear to have been sent in without the knowledge of the clubs involved. One letter wasn't signed, another came from a club without approval of that club's executive and another made reference to a second within the body of the letter!
It's a grea pity that out of the 70 odd clubs in county Limerick that five cannot be bothered to submit a letter seeking a vote on this important matter.

Flynn expected to make quick recovery
Limerick keeper Tadgh Flynn
16 March 2010
Limerick goalkeeper Tadgh Flynn is expected to make a quick recovery from the neck injury he sustained in Sunday's NHL defeat to Waterford at Fraher Field.
Fears mounted when the Ahane shot-stopper fell to the ground after an accidental clash with Waterford's Eoin McGrath which saw him having to be immobilised and placed on spinal board and then removed by the ground via an ambulance.
However, after being released from hospital that night, it has now emerged that Flynn should be fit to resume training in the next few days, although he is not expected to play against Tipperary on Sunday.
"Whatever way he fell, he was a small bit concussed, but he was fine again last night - our own senior hurling manager spoke to him and confirmed that," a spokesman from the Ahane club told the Irish Examiner.
"He'll probably miss the next match, but that will be a call by the Limerick medical team.
"He was taken to hospital but it was purely as a precautionary measure. The paramedics at the game weren't sure whether or not there was a problem and in that situation you can't take any chances, so he was immobilised and taken to hospital. He is okay now and will be fine in a few days."

Wildpundit you are not a tipperary man because if you were you wouldnt be saying Limerick will win in the U21 football!
Its sad when limerick fans are pretending to be tip fans to pretend that limerick will win!!!!!
As for that limerick fan who said the u21 game between clare and limerick footballers was played in the backend of Clare
is talking rubbish. Cooraclare has a fine pitch and stadium more than what can be said for all of the venues in limerick
with the exception of the Gaelic Grounds! And even the Gaelic Grounds in the ould city was frozen last week for the game!
Did you ever hear of such a rubbish pitch, so I think Cooraclare has more to offer as a match venue than the Gaelic Grounds
Get a grip and get ur facts right!
Kilmurray for the All Ireland Football Senior Title! Come back to westclare and celebrate with us! We love our hurling our music and now our football!
In ye dreams ye wish it was them Dromcollogher lads but then again they are kerry imported players who play for dromcollogher near the border! Anyways limerick aint a football county!
Yahoooooo Up the banner on paddys day!

Unfortunately drogba, having followed the events fairly closely, you couldn't think any other way. Whatever one's opinion on the whole Justin saga, the County Board have proven themselves to be extremely inept, have divided a county, and have confirmed the suspicions of endless managers, players and supporters. Their mandate should be to serve the best interests of GAA in the county - they have failed miserably on that score.

Jeez westtrooper, you come out with some barnstorming statements!! That's up there with your comment that your club delegates "had it in the back of their minds to say something" and couldn't be bothered. If everybody adopted your club delegates' attitude, then how would we ever expect to sort out our problems. They're probably the same fellas that will criticise everybody else when they raise their head above the parapet. Sheep...

Rather good assessment there overall, Wildpundit. Time will tell however as you said. On any given day in championship fare, there's usually only a kick of the ball separating the four teams mentioned. Anyway, it's good to see Tipp doing well in Division Three. Hopefully they can consolidate their place there. Even though, Tipp are still a rather young side, they have played quite an amount of football together. They also seem to be building up that mental toughness that is necessary for progression, as going to Newry and coming away with a point, is something that I think would be beyond a few of the Div 2 and even Div 1 teams. Beating Meath should do the confidence no end of good. Thursday night's should be a close tough game, a point or a goal either way I'd say.

What are the Limerick clubs at?
For a number of posters on this site, in particular my friends cove and westtrooper, the first opportunity the Clubs were given to call a meeting was at the March meeting. The December meeting voted confidence in the management. The January meeting appointed John Touhy on the promise that the players would return. The February meeting proposed mediation by Croke Park and this was held out as the final mechanism whereby players on the brink would return.
The March meeting finally realised :
1. that with 2 defeats under our belts we are staring down the barrell of relegation to Division 2,
2. there is not a hope in hell of getting anywhere near a win let alone a competitive game in the championship, and
3. the reality that the players who left the panel are not returning under the present management.
It is only at that point that the Clubs could take the necessary action of requesting a meeting. The truth of the matter is that the CB, while technically correct, are playing for time by returning the letters.
This saga is going on since last October/November, so lets wait another week and see what might happen.
By the way does anybody know what words of advice did Justin have for Waterford when visiting their dressing room after the game ?

treaty, you'd swear it was all one big conspiracy!
you're right on one thing though, its too late for a change. in my opinion without the players willing to talk theres no point in even carrying on with the debate.

Heard rumours that padraig McEnery was called up to the senior panel when the under 21 championship is over. how can this be fair to other players in the county when he wont even play for his club this year because he doesnt get on with the management... i think the limerick management need to take a serious look at themselves.

Cove I think e should all have expected this after the night the chairman asked 3 times and got no answer.
It reflects the level of confidence the club delegates have in the players who are exiled, they do not believe that the 12 who were dropped are worth it and I know my own clubs attitude is we will mind our own business and the big clubs can sort it out
