SENIOR HURLERS

Our senior Hurlers are back in the County Senior hurling final on October 15th following a hard fought battle over Doon in  the Gaelic Grounds on Saturday.

We raced into an early lead and led 1-5 to 0-1 inside 10 minutes with a goal from Kevin Downes.

We were well in control throughout the half with the backs well on top.

However on the stroke of half time we concededed a soft goal which added the spark that Doon were missing.

The second half was spicy and Shane Dowling led by example winning and distributing ball and adding some huge frees to keep us in front.

Will O Donoghue worked his socks off in midfield ably assisted by Cathall King and Tommy Grimes.

With time coming to a close it was ace poacher Peter Casey who crashed the ball to the Doon net to put 5 between the teams before a late consolation goal from a   30 meter free brought it back to 2.

We closed out strongly to qualify for yet another county final .

A good workmanlike performance with plenty to work on in the next 3 weeks.

Camogie

Congratulations to our Intermediate Camogie team who qualified for the County Intermediate final with a hard fought semi victory over Bruff in LIT on Sunday morning 1-7 to 1-5

This will be a first final appearance by the girls since victorious in 2007.

We wish the entire squad of players and management the very best wishes this coming weekend against Crecora.

UNDER 14 HURLERS

No joy for our Under 14 Hurlers who finished off their season with a one point defeat at the hands of Bruff in Bruff on Friday in the Shiled semi final.

A gallant effort from the lads who led most of the way before conceding a late goal.
