ALL ROADS LEAD TO KILMALLOCK FOR A DOUBLE HEADER!!!

 

FOR THE COUNTY SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL AGAINST ADARE, ON THIS COMING SUNDAY OCTOBER 1ST, AT 3.30PM, REFEREE JOHN SCULLY (GALBALLY) AND NOTE THAT THE COUNTY JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER FINAL AGAINST KNOCKANE, ON THIS COMING SUNDAY OCTOBER 1ST, AT 2PM, REFREE TO BE ANNOUNCED!!!

 

On the way into the Semi-Final, in round 1 we defeated Na Pairsaigh on a scoreline of 2-13 to 1-5, in round 2 we drew with Rathkeale on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-12, in round 3 we defeated Adare on a scoreline of 1-18 to 3-05, in round 4 we lost to Fr. Casey's on a scoreline of 3-10 to 0-11 and then in the fifth and final round we defeated Monaleen on a scoreline of 0-11 to 0-06, this result puts on top of table with 7 points to put us back into the semi-final for the 18th year in a row!!!  Please Support our Senior Footballers.

 

On the way into the Quarter Final for the second year in the running in the group stages of the West in round 1 we received a walkover from St. Kieran's, in round we defeated 2 St. Senan's on a scoreline of 0-13 to 2-05, in round 4 we received another walkover from Mountcollins and then in the fifth and final round we defeated Athea on a scoreline of 2-17 to 2-10 and this put us into the semi-final this was a repeat of last year's West Final against Granagh/ Ballingarry which we won a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-6 to book in the final against Knockaderry, we defeated Knockaderry, on a scoreline of 1-14 to 0-04.  Please Support our Junior B Footballers.

This was a very one-sided game winning back the West Junior B Football Championship for the first time since 2009 we lead at the break by 0-9 to 0-1 and then in the second half we scored 1-5 to Knockaderry 0-3 with the goal coming from Keith Lacey in the 47th minute of the game to victory of 13 points on the day and to book into the County Junior B Football Championship Quarter Final against Knockane, on this coming Sunday October 1st, now in Kilmallock, now at 2pm, referee to be announced.  Please Support our Junior B Footballers.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the nine of the points and these points came from John O'Kelly 2 points, Tom McLoughlin 2 points, Keith Lacey 2 points, Shane Murphy a point Peter Mulcahy a point, Marty Stokes a point and then Knockaderry replied with a point just before the break coming from Willie O'Brien to leave eight points between the sides at end of the half.  To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-9 to Knockaderry 0-1.

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half coming from John O'Kelly and Shane Murphy to leave ten points between the sides and then Willie O'Brien replied with a point for Knockaderry to leave nine points between the sides.  Tom McLoughlin of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Johnny Lavelle of Knockaderry exchanged points to leave nine points between the sides.  Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first and only goal of the game with 47th minutes gone in the game to leave 12 points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored their two points of the game and these points came from Tom Fitzgerald from a free and Gary Egan to leave 14 points between the sides.  Willie O'Brien scored his third and final point of the game for Knockaderry to leave 13 points between the sides at end of game and to give us back to title for the first time since 2009.  

 

Jim Lynch Asst. Secretary of the West Board in his speech thanked Feohanagh for the use of their field, referee Michael O'Flaherty and his officials on the day, he congratulated Dromcollogher/ Broadford on their performance during the game and then he presented to the cup to Anthony Donnelly captian of the Dromcollogher/ Broadford side.  Anthony thanked Feohanagh for use their field, the referee Michael O'Flaherty and his officials on the day, Anthony thanked the management team of Mike Quaid and Jim Barry and he also thanked Mike Fahy and John Brudair and he also gave three cheers for Knockaderry for a great game.   Then afterwards in the Villager Bar, Castlemahon Johnny Brosnan Asst Treasurer of the West Board presented the man of match to Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

 

Results of the 264th draw took place on Monday September 25th, in Foley's Bar, Broadford and the numbers drawn were: 5, 10, 23 and 28 there was one winner of the jackpot at €10,700 and the above would like to congratulate Colm Meaney on winning the jackpot, and Colm  will be presented with his Cheque on next Monday night October 2nd, in the Corner House, Dromcollogher as result of Jackpot winner there was no match three winner and the two lucky dips of €50 each were Eugene O'Sullivan, Meelin and Breda Reidy, Broadford and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday night October 2nd, in The Corner House, Dromcollogher, at 10.15pm sharp, the jackpot coming back down to €1,000 (Win or share) and the match three staying at €100 (win or share).  Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

 

Membership

 

Players membership/Insurance is overdue for this season.  We are asking all players to make payment of €50 students €30 before next championship game and can be paid to the following Team captains Jason Stokes and Paul Madigan and Chairman Denis O Carroll and Jim Barry Secretary.  Please note that all players must have membership paid before next championship game. Club membership for non-players is also due for payment at a cost of €30.  Your cooperation will be very much appreciated.
