INTERMEDIATE HURLERS

Our Intermediate Hurlers were in County quarter final action on Sunday when they travelled to Bruff to take on Granagh Ballingarry.

We began the game well and looked quite dangerous from open play with the forwards getting on plenty of possession.

However we proved quite wasteful and squandered a few goal chances.

That being said the Granagh Ballingarry keeper was in top form keeping his goal in tact throughout the contest.

We trailed at the break 1-10 to 0-9.

We again began the second half brightly but somehow couldn't raise the green flag desired.

When Granagh added their second goal following a defensive mix up it was a serious up hill battle.

Credit to the lads who refused to give up and pressed hard for the scores which just would come.

In the end it was Granagh Ballingarry who were victorious on a 2-19;to 0-16 scoreline.

A tough year for Paul Beary and his squad who lost numerous players to the senior team throughout the year.

Nevertheless great credit to All involved who  comfortably fitted in to the Intermediate ranks.

It augers well for next season given a bit of luck and use of some players who will see little action for the remainder of the season.

Team; Evan Condon, Pa Guinane, Mark Buckley, Pauric Heaney, Evan Gilvarry, Brian Hartnett(capt), Neil O Gorman, Eoin Hogan, Kevin Daly, Will Henn, Dean McLoughlin, John Madden, Ger Kearns, David Sheppard, Aidan Hennessy. Donall O Conaill,Evan Egan, Joe Gleeson, Mike Andrews, Gearoid Synnott, Evan O Brien, Sean McKeogh , Reuben McCarthy, Peter Hodnett, Daniel Long, Kevin Hodnett

Once again a big thank you to Paul Beary, Tomas Downes, Paul McNamara and Dave Boylan for their commitment this year.

MINOR HURLERS

Our minor Hurlers were in action in the semi final of the Co Minor Championship on Wednesday evening under lights in the Gaelic Grounds  where they played Mungret.

Having improved immensely from week to week it was hopeful that the lads would might a right battle out of this game.

This however never materialised and it was Mungret who took control from the throw in and in spite of brief glimpses of promise we unfortunately never got up to the pace of the game .

Credit to Mungret who were the better side throughout.

A big thanks to Sean Stack, PJ Breen and Liam O Brien for their efforts throughout the season.
