This was a game of two halves with Newcastle West leading by 0-5 to 0-3 at half-time and then in the second half Newcastle West outscored Dromcollogher by 1-5 to 0-2 with the goal coming from Stephen Kelly, Newcastle West were by far the better team on the night and last year in the final again we lost to Newcastle West on a scoreline of 2-5 to 0-5, our next game in the Championship is against Adare, on Sunday September 24th, at 2pm, in the Semi-Final with the other Semi-Final at 3.45pm between Newcastle West against Monaleen, both games in Kilmallock. Diarmuid Kelly scored the first point of the game for Newcastle West and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to take the lead for the first time during the game and these points came from Patrick Donnelly, Kevin Noonan and Garrett Noonan. Newcastle West scored the last four points of the half with two of these points coming from Stephen Kelly and the other points came Thomas Quilligan and Mike O'Leary to leave two points between the sides at the break. To leave the score at half-time Newcastle West 0-5 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-3.
Jamie Lee scored the first point of second half to put three points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Micheál Brosnan and Derry McCarthy to leave a point between the sides. Newcastle West scored the last 1-4 of the to retain the title with the goal coming from Stephen Kiely and with two points each coming from Jamie Lee and Iain Corbett. To leave the score at full-time Newcastle West 1-10 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-05.

Results of the 262nd draw took place on Monday September 11th, in Neenan's Bar, Broadofrd and the numbers drawn were: 10, 19, 21 and 22 there was no winner of the jackpot of €10,500 and there was one winner of Match three and that was: Mary Casey, Dromcollogher and the two lucky dips of €50 each were Noel Roche and Paddy Brosnan, Milford and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday night September 18th, in the Green Bar, Dromcollogher, at 10.15pm sharp, the jackpot going up to €10,600 (Win or share) and the match three staying at €100 (win or share). Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.
Membership
Players membership/Insurance is overdue for this season. We are asking all players to make payment of €50 students €30 before next championship game and can be paid to the following Team captains Jason Stokes and Paul Madigan and Chairman Denis O Carroll and Jim Barry Secretary. Please note that all players must have membership paid before next championship game. Club membership for non-players is also due for payment at a cost of €30. Your cooperation will be very much appreciated.
