Important Championship Weekend

Fr. Caseys face a make or break weekend with both our Senior and Junior footballers needing to claim victories to keep their seasons alive. Our Junior Footballers take on Monagea on Friday evening in the semi-final of the West Junior A Championship. The permutations for this one are simple, the victor proceeds to the West Final against Newcastle West while for the loser their season is over. Our Juniors have had a great season to date winning the West and County Junior A Leagues as well as topping Division 4 of the County League. Hopefully this team have another big performance to overcome a formidable Monagea team in what should be a really close contest.

 

On Sunday our Senior Footballers take on Na Piarsaigh in round 5 of the County Championship. Fr. Caseys could potentially make the quarter final stages without winning on Sunday if results elsewhere went their way but that is a chance nobody is willing to take. The aim next Sunday will be to secure a victory and from that a place in the quarter finals is guaranteed. The team are on a high after defeating Drom/Broadford in round 4 but in Na Piarsaigh they face a team who will be fighting for survival and a team that will also be fully of confidence after their round 4 victory over Rathkeale. Another big effort is required and hopefully the team can deliver again and keep the momentum going. We wish both teams the very best of luck and hopefully a large crowd will be present to cheer on the teams.

 

County Minor Football Championship

Fr. Caseys 1-07 Rathkeale 3-18

 

Fr. Caseys Minor Footballers had a comprehensive 3-18 to 1-07 defeat at the hands of Rathkeale last Thursday in round 4 of the County Minor Championship. With victories over Monaleen and Adare in their opening two games our Minors looked in a comfortable position but recent defeats against strong opposition in Newcastle West and Rathkeale leaves our minors needing two wins from their final three games to progress to the knockout stages. Next up for our Minors is an away trip to Mungret followed by a home tie against Claughaun in the same week. The final group game is against Galbally. Hopefully the recent defeats are just a minor blip and this team can get back to winning ways.

 

80's Night Fundraiser

Fr. Caseys GAA Club would like to thank all those that supported our 80's Night Fundraiser last Saturday night in the GAA Clubhouse. It was great to roll back the years and well done to those that put fantastic effort into dressing up. Our organising committee once more were a shining light with no stone left unturned. The clubhouse was beautifully decorated and the spot prizes, food and music were equally as splendid. More importantly everyone present had great fun on the night
