Junior A Hurling Championship
St Patrick's 2 16 Patrickswell 3 08
The Junior hurlers guaranteed top position and a place in the City Semi Final with a win over Patrickswell in Clarina.
A first half where Patrickswell were on top in most areas in a tight battle which looked to swing in St Patrick's favour with a Calvin Moran goal , but a late first half dismissal for a second caution gave Patrickswell renewed confidence.
In a very lacklustre start to the second half, down a man,the concession of three poor goals in a short period had Patrickswell very much in the driving seat leading 3 0 7 to 1 07.Once again that famed St Patrick's spirit and character was to appear with a brilliant last quarter despite battling with fourteen men.
Gearoid Hegarty who was superb all game and with Patrick Mullins to the fore ,Calvin Moran deadly with placed balls, a brilliant last fifteen minutes turned the the game.
Another win but again alot of improvements and work ahead before a tough City Semi Final.

U16 Football
Kilpeacon 4 4 St Patrick's 1 7
Disappointing defeat for the u16s on Monday night. A poor start was to be their undoing. The home side dominated the first quarter leading 3 3 to 0 1 against a stiff breeze. Showing great character in the second half,St Patricks brought it back to goal and were on top in many positions ,but the effort to try turn the game showed and Kilpeacon goaled late to seal the victory.
Every game in this championship is very keenly contested. With two games remaining and the top four qualifying for a county semi final still alot to play for in the coming weeks.
