Senior Football

Senior Football Championship  Round One

St Patricks   3 7 Newcastlewest 5 12

Similar to the first round game last year in the county senior championship , we went  down in a high scoring game. Losing by thirteen points early in the second half ,the team rallied to bring it back to  five and missed a couple  of gilt   edge goal chances at this stage. The concession of another goal was to widen the gap again and Newcastlewest   ran out  fully deserving   winners on the  night.
Last year  after a high scoring loss to St Kierans  the team came good in round two and will face the same challenge to turn it around next week against  Ballysteen. This is now a big game for both teams heading into the break with both having lost the first round. Game is  fixed for 7pm  Friday 28 April in Clarina. Please show your support.

Minor Hurling

Ballybrown 3 15 Southside Gaels 1 17

A loss in the first game for the minor Hurlers in a high scoring game.  Encouraging  performance non the less  and   with five more games to come in this championship ,the panel  has  the potential to progress over the summer.

U16 Hurling

The U16 hurling panel entertained  Carnmore from Galway on Sunday last in Rhebogue.  This was a thoroughly entertaining hour of hurling. We won out on a scoreline of 5 12 to 5 11 with great hurling on display from both sides. This was a very good test for the team and with great work from the management , this is a team that is really progressing  very nicely.

U15 Divison 1 Hurling

Ballyhoura 7 11 Southside Gaels 4 11

Another high scoring game in Kilbreedy,  our U15s came out on the wrong side of a game alot tighter than the scoreline suggests. Again alot of talent in this panel and hopefully  they can get the reward they deserve in the remainder of games.

Busy Week of fixtures

We have a busy week ahead with alot of teams out in championship  and league  over the coming week. Follow social media and Team App for fixture updates. Best  of  Luck to all our management and panels in both hurling and football.

Easter Bunny Visits Club

Great fun in the clubhouse  last Sunday when we had a special guest  arrival  with the Easter bunny.  Loads of chocolate  eggs for everyone and he even made time to help out behind the bar and  showed the  boys and girls how to hurl and dab.
