Tournafulla/Killeedy- West U21A Champions for 2017

Last Sunday was proof if one needed it, that the amalgamation of Tournafulla and Killeedy is one of success.. Tournafulla/Killeedy played Newcastle West in the U21 West final. Heavy rain made conditions tough for the first half but a lead of nine points going into the half time whistle, proved too much for Newcastle West to claw back. Although Newcastle West played well in the second half, Tournafulla/Killeedy showcased how the amalgamation of teamwork and skill wins on the day… Final score: Tournafulla/Killeedy 3-16, Newcastle West 1-07

Junior-B All-Ireland: The Final:

All Ireland Junior B Hurling Final - Sun 26th March @2pm in Pairc Ide Naofa, Raheenagh

Whitechurch of Cork V's Upperchurch/Drombane of Tipperary.

 

Both these teams met in the Munster Final. On a cold 12th February, Whitechurch secured a win with the margin of just 3 points.. Both teams brought great support that day so expect the Final on 26th March to be a packed hose…

 

Con and Annie Kirby Memorial 2017

The 2nd Round was held last Saturday 18th March and it was also the night for its successful GAA Club Banner Competition..

Killeedy showcased it's artistic talent in this witty banner. Some of the Killeedy gang; Luke Sheehan, Nathan Moloney, Seamus and Kaylah Roche, Sive Sheehan and Caoimhe Magner-Flynn, Odhran Kelleher and James Magner-Flynn

 

We weren't so lucky in the Banner competition but glad to communicate that our Dog came 1st. 3 different people commented tonight about how good this dog is, he came 2nd in the ledger so hopefully he will do good. 

 

Please support the our Dog "Native Chimes" on Sat night next in the quarter Final of the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stakes at Limerick Grehound Stadium. If he makes it to the final and wins the club will be presented with a cheque for €10,000. Free passes available from club secretary, all kids Free.

GAA membership card & rewards programme launched

The GAA has announced details of a new GAA Membership Card and rewards programme entitled grma or 'go raibh maith agat'. This is a thank you to our Members for their involvement in GAA clubs, engagement in GAA activities and attendance at games.

 

Members are being asked to sign up online via gaa.ie/grma and will receive a new official GAA Membership Card personalised with their name, club and GAA Membership Number.

 

The grma rewards programme will also be available from January and will provide GAA Members with access to exclusive discounts, special offers and the opportunity to earn points for going to games. Points can be redeemed by individual members or pooled for redemption by GAA clubs.

 

Membership Cards will only be distributed to members who have signed up to grma online. The programme is available to GAA Members who are over 18. Membership Cards are only issued to GAA Club Members who have renewed their subscriptions.

Community Walking Programme:

Community Walking Programme continues on Wednesday evenings @6.45pm from Raheenagh. Killeedy Health & Wellbeing are now registered with Get Ireland Walking. Walking Group still continues on Tuesday and Thursdaynights at the same time @6.45pm. Open to everyone and new people always welcome.

 

Older adult Programme:

The Limerick sports partnership aims to get as many older people as possible involved in sport and physical activity and therefore have developed older adult community sports hubs. These hubs provide a monthly come and try 'Go For Life' sessions and a monthly circuit session. Killeedy will have 2 people trained & hopefully the Killeedy Hub will be up and running shortly.

SafeTALK workshop:

Workshop for self-harm awareness and suicide prevention and intervention. These training workshops are facilitated by the Suicide Resource Office CHO 3 (Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary).

 

Please note, to express interest in the Understanding Self-Harm or the ASIST workshop, you must complete an individual application form and return directly to [email protected] or by post to Rose Kennedy, Office for Suicide Prevention, St. Joseph's Hospital, Mulgrave St., Limerick. When the application forms have been processed, Rose will then inform the applicant of training dates available for them to sign up for. If no date is suitable at the time, their name can go on a waiting list.
