RESULTS:

WEST Under 21 A Hurling Championship:

Tournafulla-Killeedy 2-18, Clann na Gael 0-11;

Saturday  last saw the newly formed Tournafulla Killeedy  combination make there debut in the West limerick u21 A hurling championship where they took on Clann na Gael at the Killeedy  Gaa grounds in Raheenagh. A beautiful spring  afternoon with a light breeze set the scene. The opening quarter saw Clann na Gael dominate and points by Seamus Flanagan and Kieran Guina saw them  go into an early  lead The benefit  of a game in the championship saw the Clann na Gael side maintain there command as the Tournafulla Killeedy combination struggled to impose themselves however points from  Dean Smith Cian Magner flynn

and Padraigh Ahern in the second quarter saw the margin reduced to the minimum at half time with the score 8pts to 7pts in favour of Clan na Gael

The second half saw an increase in tempo as the Tournafulla  Killeedy combination worked hard to get some early scores and edge in front with the turning point being a goal by Cian Magner flynn and points by Mikey Mahoney  Padraigh Ahern and Conor Moroney. Clann na Gael worked hard to get back in the game but good defending  denied them scoring chances A second goal late in the game by Cian Magner Flynn sealed victory and the Tournafulla Killeedy combination  will now go on to play Newcastlewest this Saturday Feb 25 at 130 in Newcastlewest

Again, worthy a mention at every opportunity are our fantastic Hospitality team, all the volunteers that; organized, stewarded, prepped the field and facilities, sold programs and turned out to support us last Sunday. Thanks

Three weeks of a break before we welcome the Semi-Finalists back to do battle..

GAA's Healthy Club project

Last Saturday saw the second Healthy Club roadshow being held in Nemo Rangers GAA Club, Cork. The clubs and ambassadors worked really well together and lots of fun with Michael Fennelly getting everyone up for some exercise. Mickey Harte spoke from the heart with some inspiring words for clubs looking to get involved in this space.

Feedback from clubs was that the case studies in the areas of healthy eating, physical activity, mental fitness & community development were useful and they could bring ideas back to their own club and kick start their own health and wellbeing journey.
