Kildimo/Pallaskenry Club Notes

February 20, 2017

CLUB SOCIAL: The club social took place last Saturday night in the Woodlands House Hotel, and a great night was enjoyed by all. The GAA club is the cornerstone of any community and was fantastic to see people come together for a very enjoyable occasion.

We would like to thank everyone who came along and bought tickets, but also to all the local businesses who were sponsors on the night, as well as the Woodlands. This was a vital fundraiser for the club, so the support of everyone is very much appreciated and will be used to fund the teams at all age groups who have enjoyed much success recently.

Thanks also to those who helped out in any way, it was a large event to organise, with a particular shout out to Darren O'Shea and John Chawke who put in a monumental effort into making the night what it was and also for the massive fundraising effort. Once again, their hard work is hugely appreciated.

CITY/EAST U-21 A HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 0-6 Mungret 1-20. There was disappointment for our U-21 hurlers at the weekend as they fell to a very strong Mungret side, who have enjoyed much underage success in recent years. Our lads weren't quite at full-strength and will be disappointed things didn't go their way.

CHILD PROTECTION WORKSHOP: The club's Child Protection Workshop is taking place this week, Thursday February 23 in Kildimo Clubhouse. It is essential that all coaches and those involved with underage teams attend.

REGISTRATION: Our registration nights took place last week in both Pallaskenry and Kildimo. All players must be registered before they can take part in any training sessions or play any matches with the club. Unregistered players are not covered by the GAA Player Injury Scheme. We would also cover non-playing members to register to become club members. Membership fees are one of our primary sources income and go directly on club running costs. We would like to see club membership increase and create a stronger club going forward.

Membership fees are as follows:

Adult Player- €60

Family- €70

Juvenile- €40

Student- €40

Non-Player- €40

Pat Culloo is our current registrar and has done a great job in getting this task done. If you have any queries, he can be contacted at 086 2224653 or contact any other club officer and they will do their best to assist.
