Cork continued their good form and Limerick bounced back on a high-scoring night in round 3 of the Munster SHL.

Waterford got off to a flying start against the Leesiders in Mallow and led by 1-6 to 0-2 after fifteen minutes thanks to an Eamonn Murphy goal. Patrick Horgan inspired a Cork rally with a flurry of points as the Rebels levelled the game before Na Deise took a narrow 1-10 to 0-12 interval lead.

The Rebels kept up that pace and ran out 0-25 to 1-19 winners, with late points from substitutes Darragh Fitzgibbon, Shane Kingston and Alan Cadogan confirming their third successive victory. Patrick Horgan contributed thirteen points for the winners in a dramatic contest that saw the lead change hands seven times in the second half.

In the night's other game, Limerick recovered from their weekend mauling by Cork to record a thrilling victory over Clare at Sixmilebridge. Goals in either half from Graeme Mulcahy and Barry Nash helped the Treaty prevail by 2-15 to 0-19. With John Conlon prominent, Clare played some fine hurling before the break but Mulcahy's major just before the interval cut their lead to one, 0-12 to 1-8.

With 15 minutes left to play, the Banner had re-established a three-point lead (0-17 to 1-11) but Nash's goal in the 63rd minute was a massive score for John Kiely's side, with Diarmaid Byrnes and Cian Lynch hitting terrific late clinching points in front of 1,719 spectators.
