Billy Lee has been officially appointed as the new manager of the Limerick senior football team.

It was confirmed at tonight's county board meeting that the Newcastle West clubman will succeed John Brudair, who stepped down from the role in August after three years.

An ex-Treaty County footballer, Lee served as a selector under Liam Kearns from 1999 to 2005.

He also managed the U21s and had spells as a selector at U21 and junior level.

In addition, he has coached a number of clubs such as Austin Stacks, Listowel Emmets and Feohanagh Castlemahon.

Former Cork All Star Paudie Kissane will act as coach in Lee's backroom team which also includes Brian Begley and Ricky Ronayne (selectors) and Barry Fitzpatrick (strength & conditioning).
