U21 A West Football Championship Round 1

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 3-10

Shannon Gaels 2-10

 

This was a game of two halves with Shannon Gales leading at the break by 1-8 to 1-4 with the first half coming from Damien Lacey and then it the second half we outscored Shannon Gaels by 2-6 to 1-2 with the goals coming from Declan Stack penalty and Mikey Browne this win gives us two points, this is a great start to the group stages.

 

Shannon Gaels scored the first two points of the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford replied with the next 1-2 to give us the lead by a goal with the goal coming from Damien Lacey after a great pass from a free kick from Cillian Fahy with 11 minutes gone in the game and the points came from Dylan Kelly and Billy Foley. Shannon Gaels scored the next four points to take lead once again by a point and then Damien Lacey scored the next pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to bring sides back on level for terms for the second time during the game. Shannon Gaels scored the next 1-1 with goal coming in the 27th minute of the game to lead four points and then Damien Lacey scored another point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to bring it back to three between the sides. Shannon Gaels scored another point before the break to lead by four points at the break. To leave the score at half-time Shannon Gaels 1-8 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-4.

 

Damien Lacey scored another pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to bring the margin back to three points once again and then Shannon Gaels scored the next point to put four points between sides once again. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points and these points came from Damien Lacey and Cillian Fahy to leave two points between the sides and then St. Senan's scored the next goal to lead by five points with 40 minutes gone in the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 2-2 without reply from Shannon Gaels with the first goal coming from Declan Stack from penalty and Mikey Browne from play and the points came from Peter Mulcahy to lead by a goal with 55 minutes gone in the game. Shannon Gaels scored the next point of the game to bring the margin back to two points and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last point of the game coming from Damien Lacey from play to leave a goal between the sides once again and to give us victory and our first two points of the group stages. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 3-10 to Shannon Gales 2-10.

We were well defeated by St. Senan's, on a scoreline of 3-10 to 0-06, after playing two games in the group this week, after a win and a loss so far and with Athea/ Mountcollins, Feohanagh/ Knockaderry and Ballysteen left to play in the group, we are playing Athea/ Mountcollins, on today Wednesday October 26th, in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale, at 8pm. County Intermediate Hurling Cup Final

 

We were well defeated by Dromin/ Athlacca on a scoreline of 5-17 to 1-10, with the goal coming from Jack O'Sullivan in the second half of the game with Dromin/ Athlacca leading at the break by 4-7 to 0-7 and then in the second half they out-scored us by 1-10 to 1-03. The above club would thank the management team of Ray Lynch, James Noonan, Clem Smith, and the backroom team of Jimmy Lacey, Liam McGraynor, Maria Lacey and Christine McCarthy, and the panel of players led by Paul Madigan Captain for their effort during the year gone by.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-09Results of the 223rd draw took place on Monday October 24th, in Neenan's Bar, Broadford and the numbers drawn were: 6, 13, 28 and 30, there was no winner of the jackpot of €6,000 and there was one winner of match three at €100 that was: Jim Duggan, Meelin and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Séamus Barry, Broadford and Pat and Peggy McGill, Dromcollogher and the next draw will take place on this coming Tuesday night November 1st, in the Corner House, Dromcollogher, at 10.15pm sharp, the jackpot going up to €6,100 (win or share) and the match three staying at €100 (win or share).
