Notes for Wednesday and Thursday 28th and 29th of August 2016

 

ALL ROADS LEAD TO MICK NEVILLE PARK, RATHKEALE!!!

 

FOR THE COUNTY SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINAL AGAINST NA PAIRSAIGH ON THIS COMING FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 30TH, IN MICK NEVILLE PARK, RATHKEALE, AT 7.30PM. PLEASE SUPPORT OUR SENIOR FOOTBALLERS.

 

On the way to the Semi-Final we defeated Ballylanders in round 1 on a scoreline of 1-15 to 0-09 in round 2 we lost to Na Pairsaigh on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-13, in round 3 we drew with St. Kieran's on a scoreline of 11 points each, in round 4 we lost to St. Patrick's on a scoreline of 3-08 to 1-10, and then in round 5 we defeated Oola we defeated 1-16 to 0-07 and then in the Quarter Final we defeated Newcastle West on a scoreline of 0-6 to 1-2. These sides met on last four occasions in the last two years since Na Pairsaigh has been in Senior Football that sides have met over the last two years Na Pairsaigh have two wins, one draw and one loss against us. They defeated us in the group stages on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-13, we drew in the league on a scoreline of 0-10 to 1-07, and they also defeated in the group stages of the league there last year on a scoreline of 2-11 to 1-12 and then in the League Final last year we defeated Na Pairsaigh on a scoreline of 2-14 to 2-12 and come Friday we look for revenge for the defeated in the group stages which happened earlier in the year with this been our 16th Semi-Final in a row, we will be hoping to win and book our place in the final once again for the 11th time in 16 years.

This was a very tight game, played in very heavy conditions for both sides, with two goals for Dromcollogher/ Broadford coming from Ross Egan in the first half and Damien Lacey in the second half of the game. The half-time score was a draw Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-8 to Newcastle West 2-5 and then in the second half we out-scored 1-10 to Newcastle West 1-8 to win by 2 points. This win sets up a County Intermediate Hurling Cup Final against the winners of Dromin/ Athlacca and Claghaun/ Old Christians on Saturday October 8th, in Kilmallock, at 2pm. Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-09Results of the 218th draw took place on Monday September 19th, in Neenan's Bar, Broadford, and the numbers drawn were: 4, 8, 19 and 22, there was no winner of the jackpot of €5,500 and there also was four winners of Match three at €100 and they each got €25 and they were: Kieran Ryan, Dromcollogher, Mary Cregan, Rowels, Meelin, Joan Galvin, Castleishion, Dromcollogher, E Stokes, Banteer and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Nora Murphy, Dromcollogher and Ailish Hayes, Knockaderry and the next draw took place last Monday night September 26th, in Nunan's Bar, Dromcollogher, at 10.15pm sharp, the jackpot was at €5,600 (win or share) and the match three stayed at €100 (win or share). Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-09Results of the 219th draw took place on Monday September 26th, in Nunan's Bar Dromcollogher, and the numbers drawn were: 1, 5, 9 and 19, there was no winner of the jackpot of €5,600 and there was two winners of Match three at €100 and they each got €50 and they were: John and Pa Cregan, Rowles, Meelin and John Browne, Newcastle West and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Ted Sheehan, Milford and Damien Lacey, Dromcollogher and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday night October 3rd, in The Green Bar, Dromcollogher, at 10.15pm sharp, the jackpot going up to €5,700 (win or share) and the match three staying at €100 (win or share).
