Minors:

Last Saturdays' Minor match against Askeaton was called off and Askeaton have given us the game. County Semi-Final next on the agenda for this group of players.

Are you a GAA player aged 12 - 21 years old? Would you like to improve your performance as a player? Would you like to learn how to balance the demands of sport and study? Would you like to get inside the minds of some of the top Inter-County players in the country?

If so, apply to attend the FREE #GAAyouth Forum designed by young players, for young players on Saturday 29th October in Croke Park.

The Forum will be fun and informative with a mix of interactive exhibitions, workshops, high profile players and a Q&A session taking place on the day.

Players will leave the Forum with invaluable tips and tools that will help them to develop as a player and as a person.

There will be a number of activities at the Forum including:

-Exhibition Zone: Interactive demos about everything from preparing healthy lunches to hurley care and repair!

-Workshops: Experts including David Gough and Joey Boland will address a range of issues from Respect & Sportsmanship to Injury Prevention & Recovery as well as juggling the demands in a young player's life.

-Free-taking Master Class: Some of Ireland's best players will be joined by Damian Lawlor on the pitch to talk about how they have honed their free-taking technique!

-Q&A: A range of experts and high profile players will answer your questions on a number of topics.

- Lunch Hub: Keep the energy levels high and enjoy the best grub Croke Park has to offer... all for free! 

Registration is from 9.30am, the Forum commences at 11am and concludes at 4.30pm.

This FREE event will fill up fast so make sure to apply online asap!

 

How to Apply

200 delegate places are up for grabs for male and female players in two age groups: 12 - 15 and 16 - 21.

The online application process is now open with applications open to being made on either an individual basis or a club basis.

Community Walking Programme:

Please contact Cecilia or Aine if interested. Please email [email protected]. The Community Walking programme is an 8 week programme where a trained walking tutor would come out to a group of walkers and teach them extras on how to get the most from their walk albeit fitness, weight loss or strengthening muscles.  The programme is offered through ourselves and Get Ireland Walking and just involves the commitment of a group of 12 or more.

 

Older Adults Programme:

We are looking for someone in Killeedy interested in being trained by Limerick Sports Partnership.

The Limerick Sports Partnership will come out to Killeedy and train community members in the delivery of all these activities and show them ways to adapt and modify games to ensure all activities are inclusive. In return we would ask that Killeedy host

1.  Go for Life - come and try 1 session per month - this session will last approx. 2 hours and will be open to anyone who wanted to attend

2.  Older adult circuit class - come and try 1 session per month - this session will last approx. 1hour and will be open to anyone who wanted to attend. Please contact Cecilia or Aine if interested

 

Couch to 5K:

Couch to 5K continues each Tuesday & Thursday nights at 7pm. New people always welcome.

 

Club Development Draw:

Weekly meeting of promotors Wed @ 9 Pm, only one more week until the draw on 7th and 8th Oct. There will be five draws in total over the two dates.

 

A reminder of the prizes making up a total of €7,000 in Cash plus numerous Spot Prizes.

5th Prize €100,

6th, 7th and 8th prize - Entry into a €1,000 rollover prize after the final draw.

Notice being communicated to all Bord na nóg Clubs:

Please be aware that any club in a final, that wishes to take photographs or videos must get clearance from the board. Anyone taking photos and videos must supply Garda vetting cert. The board have appointed photographers to take pictures. Anyone not cleared in advance will be asked to leave the grounds with cameras etc

 

Also everyone involved with teams have to be vetted. Compliance officers are currently checking all underage personnel at games. Any non-compliant club faces hefty fines.
