Intermediate Hurling Championship Relegation Playoff

St. Kieran's 2-09

Feenagh/Kilmeedy 2-08

We retained our intermediate hurling status on Saturday evening last when we defeated a tough Feenagh/Kilmeedy side in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale by a solitary point. The team displayed an improvement from their earlier defeats in the competition and showed that with some work done on the training ground that they are well capable of competing at this level. The game was in the melting pot until the very end but we were value for our win over the hour. We would like to thank the management and backroom team for their efforts over the course of the year and hope that we will not be in a similar position next year.

U11's

Well done to our super stars….. the U11 St Kieran's football team. What a weekend they had as they travelled to Moyvane last Sunday to take part in the well run Hughie Fitzmaurice Memorial Tournament. On a heavy pitch up first were Ballydonoghue after a hard game we eventually got on top to win by 3 03 to 2 01 . Up next were Ballymacelligott and we put in a great performance against a physically stronger team only to lose by the narrowest of margins on a score of  3 03 to 3 02. We qualified for the B final against Ballyheigue and we certainly we saved our best performance until last.  We played some great football and scored early goals to run out winners by 5  05 to  3 04. On top of this great victory we are all delighted that our own P.J. O' Sullivan was awarded player of the match. Well done lads and well done PJ. On a final note we would like to thank Moyvane Gaa for their hospitality. It was a great day out.
Team on the day were as follows; B Sheehan J Downey F Gleeson C Enright J Flavin S Kelly A Madigan M Barrett T Heffernan C Murphy J Kennedy D McMahon R Moloney C Hodgson and PJ o Sullivan

U13 Hurling Round 4

Last Monday we hosted hot favorites Cois Laoi Gaels in Coolcappa. We knew by some of their performances that they were a serious outfit. Undaunted, our boys started well in the first half and returned a good 1st half score of 1 3 from play to trail by just 3 pucks of a ball. The second half began in the failing light and we fought with great determination. Unfortunately, but with heads held high, we were beaten by the better team on the night, by a score of 4 9 to 1 5. Well done to our lads who never gave up and fought to the final whistle. Our next match is away this Wednesday  so keep practicing at home as well boys.

U16 Football Division 1 Semi-final Victory!

All roads led to Mick Neville for our much awaited semifinal against Monaleen. Our U16's have given us some great entertainment this year so far and they certainly didn't disappoint us in this game either. We settled well and in an often heated 1st half we led by 1 6 to 0 3 at the break. The tempo didn't ease a bit in the second half and our boys took control. They opened up their play and began to throw the ball around comfortably. They racked up a good score in the second half to finish eventual winners by 1 15 to 1 5. Excellent result and great to be in the Division 1 Final. Our opposition will be Galbally who we watched dispatch Mungret after our own game. Note boys; Training continues  and next session is this Tuesday 27th in Coolcappa, be on the field for 6:45. Well done boys and best of luck in the final!
