The final of the Horse & Hound Bar Mulgrave St Sponsored City Junior A Football Championship between Crecora- Manister and Kildimo-Pallaskenry took place in Crecora on Saturday evening last. Dylan Corrigan opened the scoring for Kildimo-Pallas with a well taken goal after being set up by the influential Peter Nash. Nash had two pointed frees and two further points from play before the interval; and Crecora-Manister had points from Gary O'Connell and Michael O' Neill to leave the half time score 1-4 to 0-2 in favour of Kildimo-Pallaskenry. Crecora-Manister with the wind in their backs began to turn the tables with two points one a free from Peter Power and were asking questions of the Kildimo-Pallaskenry outfit. Nash once again responded with a pointed free but Crecora-Manister tacked on two pointed frees from Peter Power and Michael O'Neill to leave just two points between the sides. Dylan Corrigan scored a goal at the end to leave the full time score Kildimo-Pallaskenry winners on a scoreline of 2-5 to 0-6. Peter Nash was the standout player in this game and he covered an amount of ground tracking back when needed and driving forward when needed also.

The Final of the City Junior B Hurling Championship sponsored by DJ Daly Team Flag Ireland Pallaskenry Ltd took place in Claughaun on Sunday evening last at 5pm. Ballybrown started quickly with a point from Cillian Cliffe. Mungret's response was swift with a pointed free from Aaron Hickey followed by three pointed frees from James Roche and a point from Mike Fitzgibbon. Cillian Cliffe had a second point before a defensive mix up allowed Aaron Hickey to blast past the Ballybrown keeper for the first goal of the game. Ballybrown's response was a goal from Gregory Crosse followed by a second from Mark Byrnes. Nigel Mann for Ballybrown and Mike Fitzgibbon for Mungret traded points before the interval to leave the sides deadlocked at 2-3 to 1-6 at the break. The second half saw Cillian Cliffe once again open the scoring with a well taken point but it was Mungret who took control of proceedings with seven points six from play and one 65 and the only reply was a free from Nigel Mann. The game entered a period where some players from both sides in my opinion lost their discipline and this meant that what a decent game ended with three red cards being dished out. Mungret emerged victorious on a final score of Mungret 1-15 Ballybrown 2-9.
