UNDER 21 HURLERS

Massive congratulations to our Under 21 hurlers who made it 5 County Premier Under 21 Hurling titles in a row with a brilliant victory over Doon on Saturday afternoon.
Played in Bruff by two teams who have had many a great battle over the years and this was to prove similiar.
A close fought first half with both free takers showing excellent skill and ability to penalise any infractions.
Ronan Lynch chipping in with 5 first half frees to add to points from captain David Dempsey and Peter Casey.
The decisive score of the half coming from David Dempsey who received a great pass from late addition Kevin Daly and David duly dispatched the sliothar to the back of the Doon net.
We headed into the break 4 points to the good 1-7 to 0-6.
The second half was a great show of resilience by the team with some excellent fielding from Conor Boylan and Tommy Grimes along with some brilliant defending from Jerome Boylan, Mike Andrews and Evan O Brien.
We got some crucial scores in the second half from Conor Boylan(2), Peter Casey(2)Kieran Daly and 3 Ronan Lynch frees to seal what is now a history making five in a row.
Our net minder Eoghan Foley was excellent throughout withstanding some late pressure to keep Doon at bay.

MINOR HURLERS

Our minor hurlers had a great win during the weekend over City rivals Patrickswell in Patrickswell.
It was a last minute William Henn goal that sealed the victory and a passage through to the knockout stages with one group game v Adare to go.

UNDER 13 HURLERS

Our 13 hurlers had a very good win over Patrickswell in Pairc Dromguil .
We got off to a brilliant start and led 2-6 ton0-1 after 20 minutes.
However in typical Patrickswell fashion they worked their way back into the game with some excellent scores of their own.
Our backs were playing well superbly marshalled by John Fitzgerald and Stephen Mitchell.
J J Carey and Dylan Lynch hurling exceptionally well in the middle third of the field and Marcus Hoganand Patrick O Neill making life difficult for the Well up front.
Final score : Na Piarsaigh 2-10 Patrickswell 2-4

NEWS

Our opponents are now known for the County Senior Football semI final following Dromcollogher Broadford victory over 2015 Champions NewcastleWest.

Our Junior hurlers will face Monagea in the County Junior Hurling quarter finals in the coming weeks

Great to welcome so many young kids from West Clare under the stewardship of legend Mick O Neill visit the club on Saturday morning.
Thanks to all our own players who gave their time to help with the coaching and games.

We also had a welcome visit from Carnmore to play our Under 12 hurlers on Saturday and a very enjoyable few hours was had by all the lads.

Congratulations to our Junior Hurling Manager Mike Brougham and his partner Rose Collins on the birth of their son Scott.
