CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS

Monaleen Camogie Club is recommencing training on Thursday the 8th of September from 6-7pm at the Monaleen Clubhouse pitch. Girls born in 2010 and up are all welcome.

For Child Welfare and health and safety, parents of girls who are 8 and under must remain at the pitch while their child is training.

Player registration is available online, on the main Monaleen GAA Club website at http://www.monaleen.gaa.ie/. Looking forward to seeing old faces and hopefully many new.

All girls must have a helmet and a hurley for training. Here is the breakdown of how to measure the correct hurley size.

The player stands nice and relaxed with their hands down by their sides.

The distance from the ground to their wrist is the correct length.

The player should be able to hold the hurley at the top and the hurley should be just touching the ground.

If it is not possible to perform this test e.g. you are buying a present for someone a

good rule of thumb is half their height.

If a player is between sizes it is still better to have the hurley too small rather than

too big.
