SENIOR HURLERS

Our reign as Limerick senior hurling Champions came to an end on Sunday evening following Ballybrowns victory over an understrength Doon team.
However prior to that we had a game of our own in round 4 where our opponents were South Liberties.
This was a good workmanlike performance from the lads who were always in control.
Playing against the breeze in the first half we led 2-12 to 1-9 at the break with goals coming from David Sheppard and Shane Dowling.
A third goal in the second half from David Dempsey sealed what was a very good victory.
Final score Na Piarsaigh 3-24 South Liberties 1-16
We had good performances from Tommy Grimes, Shane Dowling, Ronan  Lynch and Peter Casey.
Our final group game comes against Ballybrown in a fortnights time
We wish Kevin Downes, Ronan Lynch and Peter Casey a speedy recovery following injuries

Best performances on the night were Conor Stack in goals, mark Daly at center back whilst up front Emmet McEvoy and John O Connor battled bravely.
Team: Conor Stack, Conor Moloney, Liam Barry, John Leahy, Ralph Leonard, Mark Daly, Conor Richardson, David Ryan, Sean Long, Emmett McEvoy, David O Byrne, Keith Dempsey, Adam McNamara, John O Connor, Eoghan Sherlock.
We wish a speedy recovery to Mark Daly, James Daly and Adam McNamara/

JUNIOR B HURLERS

Junior B Championship Report to Date

Monday 4th July 2016
Na Piarsaigh v Kildimo Pallaskenry
Venue: Kildimo
Result: Kildimo Pallaskenry 1.22 Na Piarsaigh 2.12

Our players started this match well on the back of retaining their City League crown. Na Piarsaigh were 4 points to the good five minutes before half time with Sean McKeown drilling over two lovely points and Paul McNamera showing his experience and vision in the middle of pitch. A misfortunate injury to Peter Hodnett who was having an outstanding game at centre back just before the interval turned the tide in this game. Peters absence made a huge difference and the teams went in level at half time.  In the second half our players battled gallantly but on the night Kildimo Pallaskenry ran out deserved winners. We had good performances from Mark Considine, Peter Hodnett, Paul McNamera, Sean McKeown and Darragh Kennedy. Team 1) Mike Flynn 2) Mark Considine 3) Darragh Kennery 4) Tom Quin 5) Kevin McNamera 6) Peter Hodnett 7) Evan Gilvarry 8) Paul McNamera 9) Donal O Connell 10) Sean McKeown 11) Kevin Hodnett 12) Noel Shannon 13) William Henn 14) Kevin Daly 15) Ger Kerins Subs: Martin Doyle Cian Doherty Jamie Wilson

Monday 11th July 2016
Na Piarsaigh v Ballybrown
Venue: Ballybrown
Result: Ballybrown 3.11  Na Piarsaigh 1.10

We entered into this game on the back of losing our minor players due to their preparation for Minor Championship and also having to forfeit home advantage. On the night once more we started the match very brightly with Ciaran Keogh and Darragh Kennedy leading by example. Half way through the first half Na Piarsaigh were well on top of the game and leading by 3 points with Paul McNamera scoring some excellent long range frees. In the second half Ballybrown battled hard to go three points in front only for a Ken Leonard goal to level the affair heading in to the last ten minuts. Ballybrown went on to score two late goals to win the match in the final minutes. Jack Ryan made his long awaited return to the Na Piarsaigh jersey on the night and it was great to see him back. Team 1) Mike Flynn 2) Martin Doyle 3) Darragh Kennedy 4) Kevin McNamera 5) Ciaran Keogh 6) Paul McNamera 7) Ruairidh OConnell 8) Noel Shannon 9) Kevin Hodnett 10) Cian Doherty 11) Jack Murray 12) Eddie ONeill 13) Jamie Wilson 14) Jack Ryan 15) Emmet Beston Sub Ken Leonard

Monday 25th July 2016
Na Piarsaigh v Claughaun
Venue: Claughaun
Result: Na Piarsaigh 4.13 Claughaun 2.03

On an inclement night in Claughaun our players put in an outstanding performance to run out winners by 19 points. Claughaun struggled to cope with the movement of our forwards with tight marking at the back. Ruairidh O'Connell put in an outstanding performance man marking one of Claughans main scoring threats, with Paul McNamera once more bossing the middle of the field. The victory margin could of been much greater only for 3 great saves been made by the Claughaun goalkeeper. Brian Buckley Darragh Kennedy Sean McKeown and Kevin Hodnett all lead by example on the night.

Monday 8th August 2016
Na Piarsaigh v Mungret
Venue: Pairc Drumguil
Result: Mungret 5.12 Na Piarsaigh 2.16

In our first home championship match of this season our players once more left everything on the pitch. Jack Murray was in flying form in the first half along with Ian Considine and Marcus McMenamy. We were leading by 5 points at the break but failed to come out of the blocks in the second half and conceded some disappointing goals. Our lads know they will have to up their performance significantly for the City Championship semi final v Mungret Saturday the 20th August at 6.45pm in Clarina. Team 1) Mike Flynn 2) Ruairidh O Connell 3) Darragh Kennedy 4) Tom Quinn 5) Peter Hodnett 6) Brian Buckley 7) Eddie O'Neill 8) Paul McNamera 9) Kevin Hodnett 10) Ian Considine 11) Jack Murray 12) Noel Shannon 13) Jack Ryan 14) Gordon Leonard 15) Marcus McMenamy Subs Martin Doyle Jamie Wilson Cian Doherty

Unfortunately the City semi final v Mungret which took place on Saturday didn't go our way and it was the concession of some soft goals which proved crucial in the end.
Final score Mungret 3-10 Na Piarsaigh 1-12
