Killeedy Bord na nOg notes

U8s:

On Friday last Killeedy Bord na nÓg hosted an U8 Club based Blitz in Pairc Íde Naofa, Raheenagh. Killeedy had two teams and played the invited clubs; Knockaderry, Granagh / Ballingarry and Askeaton /Ballysteen. All children played three games each. It was a beautiful sunny evening and the pitch looked impeccable. Thanks to coach Joe Mulcahy for setting up the four pitches. Killeedy's U8's played three great games showing their skill in all positions. Thanks also to all the supportive parents. Killeedy has a Health & Wellbeing Committee therefore all the children were given oranges and bottled water instead of sugary treats.

U10s:

Killeedy U10's role in the Junior B All Ireland Final, Pairc Íde Naofa, Raheenagh.

Killeedy U10 Hurling Team made a Guard of Honour along with two U10 teams from Tynagh / Abbey / Dunriry (Galway) and a team from  Shanballymore (Cork) for the finalists in the Junior B All-Ireland Final on Sunday last in Raheenagh.

Tynagh / Abbey / Dunriry, Shanballymore & Killeedy underage teams then marched after the Junior B All Ireland Finalists and they were preceded by the Limerick City Pipe Band.

At half time, the four U10 teams took to the pitch, Killeedy and Shanballymore played the two Tynagh / Abbey / Dunriry teams. There was a great display of Hurling from all sides.

Killeedy's U10 team thoroughly enjoyed the experience, with the atmosphere like that of any match on All Ireland Day in Croke Park. Well done to all involved in organising such an event, making it a memorable day for the 2016 Killeedy U10 Team.
