All in Ballybrown would like extend our sympathies to the family and friends of the late Charles Godfrey, Patrick (Paddy) O Shaughnessey and Jason Griffin. May they rest in peace.
UNDER 14 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL Ballybrown 3.12 Patrickswell 1.06 Ballybrown qualified for the County final on Saturday in Mick Neville Park with this fine win over our neighbours Patrickswell. We didnt have it all our own way especially in the early minutes as Patrickswell started the stronger and were first of the mark with a point, and led two points to one after seven minutes, with our point coming from Mark Mulally. Points from Barry O Connor two, Luke O Connor two and Ross Kenny saw us lead by four points after twenty minutes. Two goals in as many minutes first from Luke O Connor and then from Ross Kenny followed by a point from Aidan O Conner gave us a commanding 2.07 to 0.02 half time lead. Dylan Kelly put his name to the score sheet at the start of the second half to give us a twelve point lead. A period of Patrickswell supremacy saw them score 1.03 with our only reply being a single point from a free from Ross Kenny had cut our lead to seven points with twelve minutes left on the clock. Barry O Connor settled our nerves a little with a point from a long range free. Dylan Kelly took over the scoring duties after that and scored 1.02 to add to his earlier point. Patrickswell replied with a point from a sixty five to leave twelve points between the teams at full time. This was once again an excellent team performance from these bunch of players. The County final has been fixed for Saturday 10th October at 12.30 in Knockaderry.

CITY JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL Ballybrown 0.07 Crecora 0.08 Our footballers went down to Crecora in the City final in Kildimo on Sunday. Crecora started the stronger and led by three points to no score and four points to one in the early stages of the first half with our point coming from Mickey Kiely. Ballybrown grew more into the game and points from Adrian Roberts two Mickey Kiely and James Hall saw us lead at half time 0.05 to 0.04. Ballybrown extended our lead to two points when we led 0.07 to 0.05 after ten minutes of the second half, with our points coming from Mickey Kiely and James Hall. Unfortunately we seemed to lose our way after that, taking the wrong option time and time again and we failed to score in that last twenty minutes. Crecora scored the last three points to haul us in and eventually overtake us and just about deserved their victory in the end. Ballybrown qualify for the County quarter final and have the potential to put this defeat behind them.
