Ciaran Carey looks set to be unveiled as the next Kerry senior hurling manager.
Currently preparing Patrickswell for a Limerick SHC semi-final, the former Limerick great has experience of Kerry hurling, having led Lixnaw to the county title last year.
He was present at Sunday's 2015 Kerry SHC decider, in which Kilmoyley got the better St Brendan's, and is expected to be named as Kingdom manager next week.
If appointed, Carey will succeed Tipperary man Eamon Kelly, who led Kerry to Christy Ring Cup glory in June, and will lead the county into their maiden Leinster SHC campaign.
Kerry will be in the round-robin phase of the 2016 Leinster championship, alongside Offaly, Carlow and Westmeath.
