Limerick hurling has been left reeling by Leo O'Connor's shock resignation as minor manager.

The Limerick Leader is reporting that the Claughaun man - who was due to serve another year in the hotseat - informed county board chiefs of his decision this morning.

O'Connor guided the Treaty County to this year's Munster final, which they lost to Tipperary in controversial circumstances. They were subsequently knocked out of the championship by Galway at the All-Ireland quarter-final stage.
