Q3 COUNTRY SENIOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Ballybrown 2.09 Doon 1.22 Our senior team exited this year's championship on Sunday  evening in Kilmallock. Ballybrown opened the scoring with a point from a free from Alan O Connor. Doon response was immediate and went on to lead nine points to five after twenty minutes. David Hall raised a green flag for Ballybrown to cut the deficit to one point. Ballybrown missed a couple of scoring chances at this stage, which if we had taken would have giving us a lead we didn't deserve. Doon added four more points to a single point from Alan O Connor to leave the half time score 1.06 to 0.13 in favour of Doon. Ballybrown again opened the scoring with a point from David Hall at the start of the second half, but Doon extended their lead with a goal and four unanswered points from the third to the eight minute of the second half. Ballybrown pulled a goal back from a twenty metre free from Alan but it was to big a gap to bridge and Doon ran out deserved winners on the night. Our lads will be disappointed with their overall performance and will want to put it behind them as quickly as possible. Ballybrown now play Murroe Boher in the Country cup.

CITY JUNIOR A HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP BALLYBROWN 1.10 St. Patrick 1.12 We exited this year's Junior championship on Saturday evening in Claughaun with our heads held high. Playing into a strong wind in the first half Ballybrown enjoyed most of the possession and we're playing the better hurling for much of the half. The scores were level with twenty six minutes gone, our scores having come from David Barnes four and William Stanners .  St. Patrick scored two late points in the half to leave the half time scores. 0.07 to. 05 in favour of St. Patrick.  The half time break did nothing for Ballybrown, now playing with the wind at our backs it was Pats who upped their game and for the first fifteen minutes of the half we were on the back foot as Pats added 1.05 to 0.02 points to extend their lead to eight points and the damage could have been worse but for some excellent goalkeeping of David Lyons. Cillian Cliffe introduced as a sub had an immediate impact on the game as he won the ball from a long clearance to score our goal to start our comeback. Ballybrown piled on the pressure in the closing fifteen minutes out scoring St. Pats four points to one but unfortunately we fell just short on the night.  Our Junior team are now finished for the year but they can be proud of their contribution to an excellent game and with a bit of luck could have got a result.
CITY JUNIOR B HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Ballybrown junior B hurling team had a busy week this week as we played two championship matches. First up we played Mungret on Monday evening in Clarina. Ballybrown started brightly enough but were caught for an early goal. Jason Keyes responded with two points from play. Mungret struck for goal number two to again put distance between the two teams. Ballybrown kept themselves in the match with some fine point taking but just before half time goal number three for Mungret had us behind by five points at half time Mungret 3.02 Ballybrown 0.06. Mikey Davoran moved to full forward for the second half and the move proved to be very productive on this occasion.  Mikey scored a goal from the restart to narrow the gap to two points. His second goal with ten minutes left on the clock was the score that put us ahead for the first time. Points from both teams in that hectic last ten minutes saw us still lead by one with time almost up. There was time for one more piece of drama in what had turned out to be a highly entertaining game, Mungret were awarded a free fifty metres out, the sliother hit the upright and dropped into the square, Ballybrown somehow managed to clear the ball and score a point to win by two, Ballybrown 2.11 Mungret 3.06.

We then had to travel to Claughaun on Thursday evening to take on Claughaun in round five of this years City championship. Playing with a strong breeze in the first half Ballybrown got of to a great start and built up a commanding lead by half time Ballybrown 2.07 Claughaun 0.02. With the breeze now at their backs Claughaun improved greatly in the second half. Claughaun were first to score in that half and continued to pile on the pressure but Ballybrown stood firm and won comfortably in the end Ballybrown 3.11 Claughaun 0.07. We now face Kildimo /Palaskenry in our final group match and a win will put us through to the City semi-finals
