Limerick won't be found wanting in "the effort department" when they square up to Wexford in the All-Ireland U-21 HC final in three weeks time.

That's according to manager John Kiely who was, understandably, proud of his players following their six-point victory over Galway in today's semi-final.

"It's amazing really," he beamed when speaking to TG4 shortly after the final whistle in Semple Stadium.

"Seven or eight weeks ago we knew we were going to be in a battle with Tipperary, maybe thought it was going to be too big a challenge then but here we are now facing into an All-Ireland final.

"I put it down to hard work, the boys have worked hard all year and they've really bought into the system.

"There's a fierce positivity about the camp. We asked them after the Munster final, that evening in fact in the dressing room, we asked them: 'were they interested in pushing on with this thing or not?' because in the past we didn't get the same out of teams that didn't work quite as hard as we would have liked.

"But these lads really knuckled down, the very first night back at training, the last three weeks have been just fantastic."

More of the same will be required ahead of the final against Wexford on Saturday, September 12th.

"There's no doubt we're going to up against the favourites from the very outset of the competition in Wexford in the final. They have a phenomenal side but we'll have a crack, we'll regroup over the next three weeks and we won't be found wanting in the effort department anyway.

"We'll give it everything and see where it takes us."
