MINOR HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Ballybrown 1.12 Cappamore 1.13 Played in Cappamore on Friday 24th July between two very even teams. With both teams enjoying periods of dominance it was Ballybrown who started the better and thanks to scores from Niall Quane and Conor Quinn led by six points to four after twenty minutes. Cappamore got completely on top in the remainder of the half and five unanswered points had us reeling at half time with Cappamore leading 9 points to 6. The half time speech and a number of positional switches worked wonders for Ballybrown. Mikey Davoran goaled and Dean Garvey followed with a point to put us up by one again. A point from Cappamore was followed by four points for Ballybrown between the 14th and 20th minutes from Alan Gavin, Mikey Davoran, Conor Quinn and Niall Quane and Ballybrown were in a very strong position. Cappamore found inspiration from somewhere and three points cut the deficit to one point. Alan Gavin who had a fine game when moved to centre forward scored with 60 minutes gone in the clock to extend our lead to two points. Ballybrown were unlucky not to have sealed the win when Cian Hall's shot skinned the upright in injury time, but the danger of a two point lead came back to haunt us as Cappamore deep into injury time managed to score that all important goal and claim the spoils in what was an absorbing game. This was a great team performance and they will be there or there abouts come the knockout stage of the championship.

Playing with the breeze in the first half Ballybrown led at half time 1.05 to 0.06 thanks to a goal from David Lyons. Crecora had the better of things early in the second half, and had drawn level when Timmy Kenny won and crossed a great ball to Evan Loftus, who blasted it to the back of the net. Crecora pushed for the scores to get themselves back into the game but Ballybrown were well up for the challenge and matched them score for score and maintained their three point advantage to the final whistle
JUNIOR B HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP Ballybrown 0-03 Monaleen 4-15 A very strong Monaleen team arrived in Ballybrown on Sunday to take on our Junior B team. We were under pressure from the start and were down four points to one when Monaleen struck for their first goal and we were not going to recover from that. Monaleen went on to lead 1-09 to 0-01 at half time. Ballybrown started brightly in the second half and were making a contest of it until Monaleen got a second goal against the run of play and our heads went down after that and two further goals only added to our woe.
