Galbally club notes

July 20, 2015

Galbally GAA would sincerely like to congratulate John Kiely on masterminding a superb victory over Tipperary in the Munster Under 21 championship last Thursday night. Being a border club, the magnitude of such a victory cannot be understated and can only be truly understood in other border areas such as Doon, Oola etc. Past defeats to Tipperary would have hurt people on the border areas, and the pain inflicted would have cut deeply. For that reason alone, any Limerick victory over Tipperary is precious, and for a born and bred Galbally man to lead his charges over the line, is a memory to be cherished forever more. Twenty years ago, John Kiely captained Galbally to the Limerick Junior B County Hurling Championship, and the passion displayed on that historic day has not been diluted with time. He has served with distinction as an officer of Galbally GAA club, both as treasurer and secretary, and there is no doubt he will become an officer again in the future. We are 100% behind him in his quest to deliver the Munster Championship in Ennis on Thursday night next.

The Intermediate Football championship is about to commence again after a break, with a game against Oola due in early August. It is important that all players commit fully to training for this important game. The Minor and Junior teams will also be in action in the coming weeks. Please check the Viber, Twitter and Facebook messages for details on all games closer to the time.
