Minor Football Championship vs St Pats

Our minor footballers got their premier football campaign off to a great start with a hard earned win over St  pats.we started slowly and conceded 2 goals in the first 10 mins but when we started winning breaking ball all around the field we put some great scores on the board. Our backs defended very well after the early blip keeping the pats boys to only 2points in the final 40mins of football, our midfielders honestly and hard work was a joy to watch through out and out pace speed and running off the shoulder upfront was delight full to watch.final score Newcastlewest 6-8 St pats 2-4.training continues

U11 Hurling league:

The U11 hurling squad suffered their first defeat of the year on Wednesday night last. Shor a few regulars due to holidays etc but on the night we were beaten by the better team, monaleen were a very balanced side with good hurlers all over the field, the pleasing aspect of the game was the never

say die attitude of Newcastlewest, hurling to the bitter end even though they were getting well beaten. The players will learn from this and come back a stronger team.
