Rathkeale GAA Club notes

July 14, 2015

Important games this week for Junior Hurlers.
The next 6 days are vital to the junior hurler's hopes of continuing to hurl into August and beyond. We play Adare this Thursday evening in Askeaton at 7.30pm quickly followed by Templeglantine in Newcastlewest on Sunday evening at 7pm. Having recorded a loss to Monagea and a win over Kileedy in our opening games, results in the next 2 games will be vital if we are to gain one of the 3 play-off places available. Your support for the lads on both Thursday & Sunday evenings will be appreciated.

Senior Footballers
Our senior footballers Played Na Piarsaigh in Div-1 of the county league in the Bog Garden on Tuesday 30th June. After a close and exciting game we were eventually beaten 2-11 to 2-09. This result leaves us in the lower half of the table but with 2 back matches to play, we still have a chance to improve on that position.

Senior Football Championship
Preparations are on-going for our next championship game against Ballylanders on the weekend of 9th August and our final group game against Monaleen on the weekend of 30th August. We are at the bottom of the table currently but wins in our remaining games would still see us qualify for the knockout stages. Still all to play for!!.

Minor Hurling 13-a-side Championship
We made the trip to Glenroe (long trip) last week and were well beaten by a much stronger Glenroe side in a rather one sided game.

West Minor Hurling Championship
The minor hurling championship involving the combined Granagh/Ballingarry & Rathkeale resumes this Tuesday night when we play St Kierans in the Bog Garden at 7.30pm. Your support will be welcome.

County Premier Minor Football Championship
This competition finally gets underway for our lads this Wednesday (15th July) in the Bog Garden against Mungret at 7.30pm. The management are hopeful we can make a positive start. Again your support will be appreciated.
Next up after that will be a trip to Kildimo on Friday 24th July. There are also 2 games against Adare and South Liberties from before the leaving cert that were not played and both of these need to be re-scheduled. Training continues.
