Happy July 4th to all our American cousins as we brought you the latest edition of our live text commentary.

It's independence day in the U.S and six counties wanted to be independent and progress to the next round of qualifiers in both the All-Ireland SFC and SHC campaigns.

There were three games in the football championship and three in the hurling and this evening six counties campaigns will have come to an end.
