St Patrick's G.A.A. Club Notes

Junior Hurlers:
Our junior hurlers had a busy seven days playing three games in that period Mungret Na Piarsaigh and Ballybrown. First up was away to Mungret and our team due with the men in red. Leading at half time by 0-07 to 1-02 but in a exciting second in which were on top all the way but failed to stop Mungret from making a draw from the game final score was St Patrick's 0-12 Mungret 2-06. Our scorers were Jason Mullins (0-07), Patrick Mullins (0-04) & Craig Rochford (0-01). Next up was the meeting of Na Piarsaigh at Rhebogue in a open game of hurling from both sides that led to both teams been level at the break St Patrick's 2-07 Na Piarsaigh 3-04. We continue in the second half to push for victory with Jason Mullins in great form hitting a total 2-09 but with Jason's efforts we still came second best going down by a goal full time score St Patrick's 2-10 Na Piarsaigh 3-10. We lined out as follows David Geary, Tony Quigley, Mark Phelan, Keelan Stephenson, Padraig Reale, Wayne Cronin, Darragh Cronin, Brendan Mullins, Andrew Hannigan, Niall Phelan, Gearoid Phelan, Jack Greenwood (0-01), Jason Mullins (2-09), Barry O'Doherty and Ryan Harris. Subs: used was Kieran Dore & Sean Ryan.
Our final game of the seven days took place at a wet and windy Clarina last Monday evening when we travelled out to take on the home side Ballybrown. Weather conditions during the game was just not suitable for hurling, but both sides did their upmost to make a game of it. Playing against the elements in the first have we were down by 6points at the break 1-04 to 0-01 giving away a goal just on the break. But in the second half we tried to reduce the margin but with the weather conditions we just could not get the ball on target and finished the game with five points short St Patrick's 0-05 Ballybrown 1-07. We lined out as follows David Geary, Tony Quigley, Mark Phelan, Shane McNamara, Darragh Cronin, Wayne Cronin, David Clancy, Brendan Mullins (0-01), Keelan Stephenson, Ryan Harris, Patrick Mullins (0-03), John Mullane, Jason Mullins (0-01) Kieran Dore & Michael Downey. Subs: used was Cyril Hamilton. U14 Football:
Our under 14 football team suffered defeat in their second round game in the county football championship league following their victory last week over Pallasgreen we went down by ten points against a very strong Caherdavin side Na Piarsaigh final score St Patrick's 0-06 Na Piarsaigh 2-10.

U12 Hurling:
Our under 12 hurlers travel across the main Dublin road to meet our neighbours Claughaun in the county under 12 hurling league after a very exciting and tough match our young lads came out on top by a single point. Claughaun got the first score of the match a goal after a lot of pressure we finally got a point followed quickly by a goal. Despite a great battle and some near misses in the second half and great determination there was no further scores. Our panel and scores are as follows Jamie Quigley, Pierce Quin, Sean Rice, Liam Chambers, Matt Hickey, Bradley Moran, Mike Ryan, Ryan Manning, Jamie Duffy, Shane Cross (0-01), Kevin Rea, James Murphy, Tony Hayes, Martin McCarthy and Adam O Rourke (1-00). Well done to both teams for putting on a great show of exciting hurling for both excited supporters and parents on the evening.

U8s:
Only St. Patrick's and Claughaun played in the blitz hosted in Rhebogue. Both club entered two teams with all games finishing in draw. Our teams are as follows team 1. Ben Collopy, Christopher Hickey, Emma Doherty, Ali Twomey, Callum O Keeffe, TJ Power, Cillian Kirby, James McCarty and Ben Walsh. Our Team 2 was Adam Ryan, Eamonn Doyle, Megan Reidy, Ryan O Keeffe, Mark Dawson, Connie Dawson, Ryan O Halloran and David Kidney. Thanks to Claughaun for taking part and to all the players who had great fun.

Senior Footballers:
Our senior footballers are back training following a week off and on this Thursday evening we travel to Rathkeale to take on Rathkeale in the county senior football league throw in is at 7pm. Just a reminder that we will take on Ballylanders in the next round of the County senior football championship weekending 4th June.

Junior A Football:
Our junior footballers were due to play Na Piarsaigh last Thursday evening at Rhebogue with our team and referee waiting for Na Piarsaigh but for some strange reason the Caherdavan side did not appear. So this week we take on Mungret at Rhebogue at 7pm.

Membership:
Membership for 2015 is now closed but Associate membership is now available at a cost of Adults €40, Unemployed €25, Underage €20, O.A.P. €10 and Family € 50. Membership cards will be available within the next two to three weeks to all paid up members.

Clubhouse Bookings:
Having a Party the Clubhouse is available to hire for private parties Christenings, Communions, Birthdays etc. For all bookings at the Clubhouse please contact club secretary Hannah Phelan 083-8402387.

Club Limerick/Mackey Stand Draw:
The club had one winner in the Limerick Club Draw (Macky Stand Draw) in last Month draw. Patsy Flannery came out 13th in the draw and won €250.00. Congratulations to Patsy. Club member Niall McNamara won €500 in the April draw. This draw is a great fundraiser for the club and the club is still open for members to join you can join the draw if you are not yet in it by contacting Club Secretary Hannah Phelan at 286-1733284. The next draw will take place on Saturday May 30th  

Fundraiser Dates for the Club
The club have secured two more dates this week at the Parkway S.C to sell lines to help fundraising for the club. Dates are Thursday 21st & Friday 22nd. If you can give two hours or more of your time the club would appreciate it. Text club Secretary Hannah ASAP to which dates & time you can do. The draw for the winners of two Munster senior hurling championship game between Limerick and Clare will take place on this Friday evening. 

Gaelic4Girls:
Gaelic4girls resumes on Tuesday's between at 6:30pm until 7:30pm. Registration for the Gaelic4girls is €8 per child for the 8 weeks that is ran for. You pay and your child is then registered for the following weeks. Venue: St Patrick's GAA Field. Time: 6:30pm until 7:30pm. Gaelic4Mothers:
Our Gaelic for mothers drew with Monaleen last Saturday evening in their first game of the season well done to all involved it was a great turn out by all. Any mother or other interested in getting a bit fit, having a laugh and making new friends, why not give the training a go, Tuesday and Thursday 8pm-9pm. Gaelic4Mothers, Others, Groody Gaels and Ladies U16s will be training every Tuesday & Thursday evening between 8pm to 9pm in the field.
