Under 21 hurlers

Pride of place most definately goes to our under 21 hurlers who made it a 4 in a row at under 21 level
They travelled to Kilmallck on Sunday to take on Doon in the County Final.
Playing against the breeze in the opening we began well and were two points up inside three minutes from David Dempsey and a Peter Casey free.
Shortly after we were awarded a penalty which saw Ronan Lynch's rasper come crashing back off the crossbar and away to safety.
We had further points from Peter Casey(3) and Kieran Daly to lead 0-7 to 0-3 before we conceded a softish goal.
We responded well to this set back with some excellent hurling from all lines on the field.
Points from David Dempsey(4),Peter Casey (3) and one from Mike Foley had us in the driving seat 0-14 to 1-4 at half time.
We began the second half with two further points from Mike Foley and Eoghan Keogh to lead 0-16 to 1-5 before a rather tame shot deceived Evan Condon in the goal to give Doon their second goal.
Our man of the match David Dempsey again took command scoring a further 3 points form play to take his tally to 8 points from play against a quality opponent in Richard English.
We had some fine performances from the captain William O Donoghue and Kieran Daly around the middle of the field with Mark Buckley commanding the backs along with Evan O Brien, Gordon Brown and Mike Casey.
Upfront David Dempsey and Peter Casey were excellent along with Tommy Grimes who caught some great ball throughout the game.
Overall a tremendous achievement from the lads not to mention the management trio of Conor Shiels, Tom Millea and Diarmuid Madigan who have been ever present in the four in a row.
Final Score: Na Piarsaigh 0-22 Don 2-7.
Team: Evan Condon, Evan O Brien, Mark Buckley, Gordon Brown, Mike Casey, Ronan Lynch, Josh O Halloran, Williiam O Donoghue(capt), Eoghan Keogh(0-1), Tommy Grimes, David Dempsey(0-8), Peter Casey(0-9,5f), Kieran Daly(0-2), Michael Foley(0-2), Evan Egan. Subs : Conor Boylan, Dylan Cronin, Dean McLoughlin

UNDER 15 HURLERS

Our U/15 Hurlers played Ahane in the first of a three game league program last Wednesday evening and recorded a 1-14 to 0-4 win.
Struggling in the opening half, the sides exchanged points and were 2 points a piece at the end of the first quarter with James Daly accurate from placed balls.
By half time, we had opened a 0-6 to 0-2 lead with captain Sean Long very dominant at centre back. A goal mid way through the second half by Conor Stack plus some excellent points from Adam McNamara and David O'Byrne opened daylight between the sides and they ran out comfortable winners. Sterner tests to come against the two sides who defeated us along the way last year, Garryspillane & Mungret.
Lineout:
Robin Ryan-Blake, Conor Moloney, Mark Daly, Eoin Keenan-Quinn, John Leahy, Sean Long (capt)(0-2), Ralph Leonard,
James Daly (0-5, 0-4 frees), Adam McNamara (0-3), Conor Stack (1-0), Robert Duffy, Colin Coughlan, Eoghan Sherlock (0-1), David O'Byrne, Mark Boylan.
