The official launch of the Galbally GAA Dog/Family Fun Night on 13th June will take place this Friday night 17th April at O'Connell's Bar at 9.30pm. This is part of the prize we received for Boyle Sports Hero winning the 2014 Con and Annie Kirby stake. Tickets will be on sale following the event and we would ask all locals at home and abroad to support this venture if possible. It costs a significant sum of money to affiliate the club on an annual basis ever before a ball is kicked and therefore all fundraising opportunities are important. A €10 ticket will provide entry to the dogs on the night, plus there are chances to win a cash prize of €800 for the correct buster combination along with three €200 cash prizes.

The first round of the County Intermediate Football Championship will take place in Hospital on Saturday 25th April at 7pm against Cappamore. Please support the side especially as the game is relatively local and will not involve a lot of travelling. John Kiely and Kieran Hickey were associated with the Abbey CBS team that were beaten in the All-Ireland Football Colleges Final at Croke Park last Saturday. A number of local girls were involved in the recent All Ireland Ladies Colleges title win for John the Baptist School in Hospital. The panel included daughters of a number of former Galbally GAA players. Grainne Ryan (captain) and Ashling Ryan (Daughters of Paul Ryan), Sara Morrissey (Liam Morrissey), Andrea O'Sullivan (Philip Sullivan) and Jane Casey (Davy Casey) were on the panel. Anna Rose and Caitlin Kennedy (Pat Kennedy) and Rachel Bourke (Ailbe Bourke) were also part of the panel.
