Ballysteen 2015 10km Run

The 4th annual Ballysteen GAA 10km / 5km run will be held Saturday, 11th of April. Set along a scenic route, bringing participants along the banks of the Shannon Estuary, the event has gone from strength to strength and is now a firm favourite for runners of all levels in the Limerick region.
With both a 10km & 5km course available, this event is the ideal preparation for anyone planning on taking part in the Great Limerick Run in May. We look forward to seeing you on the day!
Refreshments will be served afterwards.

County League

Ballysteen are going very well in the County League and currently sit at the top of Division 2 with 3 wins out of 3.  2 teams get promoted this year and it is important that we get into Division 1 for next year. Ballysteen defeated Pallasgreen in Pallasgreen on 31/03/15. It was a typical hard fought match against the men from East Limerick and Ballysteen came out on top on the scoreline of Ballysteen 0-11 to Pallasgreens 1-4. The Ballysteen team and scorers was Danny Fitzgerald, Conor Enright, Robert Whelan, Roger Somers, Anthony Ryan, Mark Ranahan 0-2, Kevin McMahon, Shane Gallagher, Padraig Vaughan, Sean Whelan 0-3, Shane Hallinan 0-3, Matthew O'Meara, Declan Nash 0-1, Barry McMahon 0-1, Maurice Somers. Subs- Steven Carrig 0-1, Paul Maher, Marcum Fitzgerald.  Our remaining games are Oola at home on 7/4/15, Castlemahon at home on 14/5/15, Mountcollins away on 4/6/15 and Adare at home on 30/6/15.

Well Done

Well done to our 3 county panelists, Pa Ranahan, Danny Neville and Pakie Moran who played their part in Limerick footballers avoiding relegation after 2 great wins against Clare and Louth with Pa Ranahan getting a vital goal to help Limerick defeat Louth.


Club Limerick GAA Draw 2015

Ballysteen GAA are promoting the Limerick Club Draw for 2015. The total prize fund is over €340,000. There are 10 monthly draws at a cost of €10 month. The first draw will be in March.

Gaeltacht Scholarships 2015

All applicants must be club members, male or female either playing our games or involved in Scór. The €350 scholarships are for secondary school pupils only. They apply only to residential colleges under Comharchumann Chorca Dhuibhne(West Kerry); Coláiste Béal Atha an Ghaorthaigh(West Cork) or Coláiste na Roinne (Port Láirge) Anyone who is interested can contact Paul Anglim on 0872838990 or email [email protected]

Club Gear

Ballysteen Club Gear will soon be available to buy at Adrenalin Sports in Newcastlewest.

Golf Classic

Ballysteen GAA will be running a golf classic on the 3rd and 4th of July in Ardagh. This should be a very enjoyable day and a good fundraising exercise.


County Senior Football Championship

Ballysteen are playing Na Piarsaigh in the first round of the championship on the weekend starting on 23/04/15. St Kierans, Adare, Father Caseys and Newcastlewest are the other teams in the group.

Junior B Football League

Ballysteen play the first round of the Junior B football league on 2/4/15 at 18.45 away to Rathkeale. The other 3 rounds are home to Knockaderry on 9/4/15, away to St. Senans on 21/4/15 and home to St Kierans on 5/5/15.

West Junior B Football Championship

We defend our West title in the first round of the Junior B Championship on 16 May against Rathkeale. We meet St Kierans on 23 May, Glin on 5th June and Athea on the 20th June.

West Minor A Football Championship

We play Athea/Mouncollins on the 24th April, Deel Rangers on 10th July and Shannon Gaels on the 17th July.

West Under 21 Football Championship

We are out on the 8th November against Shannon Gaels and play Deel Rangers on the 22nd of November.
