UNDER 14 HURLERS

Our under 14 hurlers were back in action on Monday evening when the played the first game of the Feile against Patrickswell in Pairc Dromguil.

Following the recent defeat in the Feile Peil on Sunday, the lads were anxious to atone for that result and began the game very positively.
The team were strong througout with the defence superbly marshalled by Shane Harney at full back and Keith Dempsey at center back.
Corner backs Evan Sheehan and Ian Leonard were very prominent throughout whilst our ggoalkeeper Robin Ryan Blake was ever alert betwee the sticks.
Our first half scores came fro John Moloney(free), Keith Dempsey also a free and David Hourigan who raised the green flag mid way through the half. We trailed at the break 2-1 to 1-2.
The second half was nip and tuck with scores hard to get. We began to get success when we ran at their defence and Emmett McEvoy and Harry O Donnell began to do so.
Two further points from John Moloney brought us back to within a point of the Well and it was super sub Aidan Burke who was on hand to kick the ball to thew net for the all important winning score.
Overall a satisfying start to the campaign but with lots of work to be done.
Final Score was Na Piarsaigh 2-5 Patrickswell 2-3
Team: Robin Ryan Blake, Evan Sheehan, Shane Harney, Ian Leonard, Sean Hartney, Keith Dempsey(0-1), Matthew De Courcy, John Moloney(0-3,2f), Justin Norden, Harry O Donnell(0-1), Emmett McEvoy, Dean O Donnell, David Hourigan(1-0), John O Connor, Jack Barry.
