Senior Footballers win one and lose won over St Patricks weekend!
The Rathkeale Senior Footballer had a busy couple of days over St Patrick's weekend with two games in four days. In the All County League Division 1 they enjoyed a comprehensive victory over St Kierans in Coolcappa on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-5. This leaves them in second place in the league standings after their game against Drom/Broadford was rescheduled. Their next encounter will be a tricky fixture away to Fr Caseys in Abbeyfeale who incidentally beat Rathkeale comfortably on St Patrick's Day in the West Senior Championship. The game was over as a contest at half time after Fr Caseys hit 3-5 in a 15 minute spell. Rathkeale made a spirited fightback in the second half with Sean Sheahan finding the net twice. Rathkeale will be disappointed with their first half display which ultimately was their down fall and it is Fr Caseys who will advance into the semi-finals of the West Championship. Final score Fr Caseys 4-17, Rathkeale 3-10.
U21A Hurling Semi Final -
Our U21 hurlers had a tough encounter against Newcastlewest in the U21-A semifinal which was played on Friday 13th March in Mick Neville Park. Our close rivals were just too strong on the night and it was Newcastlewest who came out on top on a scoreline of 4-14 to 0-11 to allow them to advance to the Final against Croagh.

Limerick GAA Clubs Draw (Formerly Mackey Draw)
Our promoters are currently travelling the high-ways & by-ways of the parish to promote this draw again this year. We have a number of new promoters on board so if you were in previously you may be getting a call from a new promoter this year. The first draw takes place on the last Friday of March with a draw each month right through to December. Cost is the same as previous years - €100 for the full 10 draws. There is a top prize of €13,000 each month with 22 other excellent prizes that must be won each month. Our club, (along with most of the other clubs in Limerick) is the big beneficiary of this draw. It is our main fundraiser for the year and we are very grateful to our members who support us each year. A big thank-you to each of you from all our players and members. By supporting it, you are directly supporting our club. The Club are hoping to wrap this up in the coming weeks so if you haven't already returned your monies to the promoters we are asking you to do so in the coming week.
Bord na nOg Foundation Course
The Bord na nOg foundation course is now complete and it proved to be a great successs, well done to all those who attended. Thanks to Noel Hartigan and James Ryan for their assistance in making the course such a success.
Underage Football and Hurling training will commence next Monday and Wednesday for the U8s, 10s and 12s age groups. Notification will be sent out at the weekend to confirm timings with parents.
Fixture: Under 15 Football v Athea in the Bog Garden next Wednesday April 1st at 6.15pm
Club Membership now due
Club membership for the 2015 season is now due. Rates for 2015 are as follows: Adult €30, Under-18 €15 and a family rate of €60. All players must pay their membership prior to taking part in any games or training. This will be strictly enforced this year so make sure you contact Philip O'Donnell, who is the club registrar again for 2015.
